It also encourages piracy, as people will just pirate the movie instead of waiting for it to come out.

Hard to begrudge a studio so dependent on not only U.S. box office, but also worldwide numbers pushing their movie to a better spot. There are potentially billions riding on it after all.

As long as the release date for the US is the same, I'm good. I feel bad for others, though.

Oh Soccer. I forgot that was a thing. I can see how I forgot since you can't GIVE away MLS tickets here.

That's kind of a shitty thing to do to Transformers fans who don't give a shit about futbol/soccer. As usual the jocks ruin everything.

It's easier to rename something unpopular than it is to rename something very popular.

Edit: Obviously I mean in the states.

Being an American, I'm so glad the dates are the same. However, I undestand the frustration as we didn't get TASM2 for a few weeks while other places around the world had it. Fuck these release dates. August for Spain and Japan??? Is that a joke? If you want people to pirate your movies, go ahead and make them unavailable to your audience for a few months while everyone else has seen it. Stupid decisions.

Agreed - chances are I'll be able to watch a pretty good quality version online before it comes out in my local cinema - thus removing the need to even watch it in cinema's even if the film turns out to be amazing - given the UK has to wait almost two weeks after the US release meaning it should be incredibly easy to find it online.

Not to mention 2 weeks is ample time for the movie to be spoilt even for those who only use the web casually. Reviews would be out and the film will be labelled as good or bad before most the world even has a chance to see it - and all because of football.

I feel so sorry for those having to wait until even later dates - I mean fucking August? Seriously? Because of fucking football it got delayed in some countries for 2 months?

It's completely ridiculous, a two week wait is long enough, if I had to wait 2 months I would go insane.

Agreed - wont be seeing it in cinema's now regardless of quality to help make a statement about this sort of stuff - anyone else annoyed at this should do the same (But of course the choice is theirs)

While I understand other films have been delayed in places due to distribution issues - this is just insulting to all the fans of the movie. Its essentially a statement that they all view us as football crazed fan-boys who wouldn't be able to decide between the World Cup or seeing Transformers; AOE (Despite the ability to easily do both) Its insulting and money grabbing at its lowest standard.

I'll stay at home and enjoy or hate the film from the comfort of home online in order to avoid giving them anything to contribute to their film this time.

As a die-hard U.S. soccer fan, this will probably be the one and only time I'm actually glad soccer still isn't a huge deal in this county :lol

It'll probably be pushed back to Mid-July for the next film, the holiday season would allow them to maximise profits.

Sounds like a perfect situation for some people. How better to while away the time it would take to download AoE than to go watch some football? Assuming they like football.
    That or Safety Gear Rugby.
