Soccer: boring to watch, fun to play. Like baseball. Soccer should be played indoor between 4 walls on a smaller surface, pinball style, like in high school!

That VanPersie goal was insane... that final score was insane too... The Dutch looked pretty good, or did Spain just play really bad?

I'm going for Argentina... A South American team has always won when the tourney has been played there.

There wasn't really that much hype for this World Cup. We have a young team, expectations were low, probably second place in the group and losing to Brazil in the second round.

Safe to say the country exploded now :p  What an insane game

I felt sorry for Spain. A 5-1 win against them. Not a great start

I'm new to the World Cup tournament, but I do know Spain has "3-peated".

Is it like NBA playoffs? Best out of series, or 1 game and be eliminated like the NFL?

I have no idea about NBA, but basically the top 2 teams from each group go through to knock-out rounds where the second placed team from the group plays the top team from the next group etc. I have no idea if I answered your question.

You are right. Top two from each group advance, then single elimination. Not only does Spain lose but goal differential can be a factor in the group!

Obviously rooting for USA but I think Italy will win Cup.

first game for today: Colombia vs. Greece.

now, i said i'm routing for central and south american countries (latin pride, yo) but Greece has given so much to the world, it's food, it's culture, it's mythology. who doesn't know Greek mythology.

so, i'm not taken sides this time. so i wish the best of luck to both teams.

I totally lost interest in this year world cup. As the ending of the whole event would be predictable. Brazil obviously is going to win the world cup.

If Brazil don't win the world cup, I fear the worst will happen to that country. Civil disobedience on a massive scale, riotings, suicides & the entire national squad will probably go into hiding or exile. :rip

How is it predictable? Brazil are good but looked nervous against Croatia. I personally don't think they'll win, there are great teams out there and I personally think Argentina and Holland will win (Well, I need Holland to win!).

    Holland/Spain match yesterday was mental.

I'm not expecting anything similar from tonights underdogs in the England/Italy game... if England can convincingly beat Italy tonight I can dare to dream, but until then I can only assume it'll be 90 minutes of car crash.
