This announcement is worthless without pictures, at least of their past products.

 

ARGH! It doesn't say they're doing Heroclix.This annoys me.

Wizkids produces Heroclix, a comic book themed miniatures game.
They also put out a variety of painted and unpainted miniatures for use with other games. I believe they've been doing things for Magic: The Gathering, D&D, maybe Pathfinder, and I think they've got some Star Trek ship things too.

 

Wizkids used to be the ones who did HeroClix, so miniature gaming figures.

 

They make D&D miniatures, among other brands. An example is

Makes it weird for an official TF PnP RPG not being made yet given how d20 and D&D are owned by WoTC thus owned by Hasbro.

 

If they do these like the unpainted ones for D&D, I may have to buy a few. As a miniatures painting enthusiast, this could be trouble for my bank account...

Cool I suppose. I just hope these are going to be located in another part of the store, like in the NECA and Funko figures area of Target. BotBots are already taking up shelf space.

 

I imagine they will be in the same area as D&D minis and Pokemon cards. They will probably be easier to find in a gaming shop than Target or Walmart.

Because it's funny how hasbro is invested in these lowlife companies.

 

Obviously Hasbro cares.

It's funny because Hasbro tried to recreate their own version of Heroclix in competition to Wizkids with a line called Attacktix but failed spectacularly:




So now it's a scenario of can't beat 'em, join 'em. I for one applaud Hasbro for realising they have strong property brands that they should be licensing out to anyone and everyone instead of trying to make their own versions that lead to nothing.

I know the article specifically mentions miniatures, however I'm really hoping for a Dicemasters game with Transformers.

 

For a moment there, I thought Transformers had entered the world of Warhammer 40k...

Even Unicron would have a hard time in that universe...
