I promise this will be my last thread today. -This is actually something I am curious about. Megatron has three loyal hounds that do what he says; 1st. Soundwave 2nd. Blackout 3rd. Starscream -So I suppose Grindor is now filling Blackouts shoes? And if this is not the case, then I wonder if it's just Soundwave and Starscream as Megs assistants. What do you think?
Starscream is Second in Command, no doubts about that. But I always saw Blackout as a more loyal Third in Command, if anything. Under Starscream, I'd say Soundwave is a definite Second in Command.
Starscream was second in command only under the line of thinking; "keep your enemies closer". Blackout was merely a bodyguard with few, if any, ancillary command duties. The true number 2 has always been Soundwave, who works quietly, secretly behind the scenes safeguarding Megatron himself as well as his directives. Starscream is overconfident in his abilities, yet lacks the critical mind. He's never questioned his command, never dug deep enough to realize he's only second in name only. Blackout was well aware of what he was, I believe, and never really had the ambition to move higher.
Starscream is know by everyone to be second in command, but I heard somewhere that in the movie Megatron secretly holds Soundwave as second because of his mistrust of Starscream. I want to see Soundwave rise up to be that in TF3 and take down SS and his Seeker buddies
Starscream is second in command, but Soundwave who is seen as Megatron's most loyal and closest "friend" and bodyguard, is actually seen as the true second in command by Megatron. I think he gave Starscream the title of second in command just to give him the feeling that he has power and is important and again to keep his "enemies" close. And Blackout is third in command, but with him being killed I think he might have been replaced by Grindor.
I have heard the thing about Blackout being the second in command before. I think it was on the LAM blog from one of the "credible sources". If Starscream were not the second in command, how can he maintain power in Megatron's absence prior to TF1 and in between the first film and RotF? "Ghosts of Yesterday" has Starscream and Blackout vie for leadership and Starscream emerge successful. Soundwave, however, seems to have an enormous amount of power in the Decepticon hierarchy. "Alliance" and "Defiance" shows Megatron's trust in Soundwave. He orders Starscream to him in "Alliance #2" and is given command of the Nemesis in "Definace #4". I'm pretty sure that Blackout is described as the constant presence looming over Megatron's shoulder in the TF1 game's manual, which indicated bodyguard to me. Soundwave has a power unto himself granted by Megatron, not even Starscream can hope for that even when he is deputy leader.
Thx, Starscrem1701 for having proof blackout was 2nd in command. But now that I think about it, Megatron doesn't really trust in anyone but himself!
Yeah, it was posted by the fake Dreamworks employee, who also spouted a bunch of other crap, all of which has been proven to be lies by people who have actually seen the movie.
i remember a prequel comic to the first movie about the cons on cybertron after megs took off after the allspark. Didnt SS take command intially and was challanged by blackout and i think barricade? so SS and blackout had a battle over who would lead and SS came out on top.
I don't ever want to see Screamer die. Having him and Megatron bicker to the cows come home is fine by me. The series is never same without Starscreams presence.
