Do you think that they'll end up removing it post production? Let's say for the sake of argument that Einstein-bot is in fact Wheeljack, do you think that they'd remove the hair and put in "ears" so to speak.

I highly doubt it, just think of Optimus' flames (I like those, and I like the hair, btw), but Bay isn't the kind of guy to bend to the fandom's internet outcries just for a little microfiber hair. If it's something he likes, it's staying in.

    Tough to say.

I don't think they are so deep into the CGI phase that modifications could not be done.

On the other hand is it really something they would bother to listen to the fans on?

The designs probably aren't "official" seeing that the movie is still filming so there is a chance that a new design will be created, or already has been. Either way I'm perfectly fine with how the characters all look so far, though Soundwave's mouth creeps me out a bit :lol

Didn't fan uproar lead to a change for Megatron's face? While I would like a slightly more classicly-inspired face for Wheeljack (providing it is him), this face isn't as gut-wrenching as Megatron's original face.

    It didn't.

Really guys we are not important to the production process as you may think.

On the special features from Transformers, Bay clearly states that internet fan rage caused him to reconsider and eventually change Megatron's head.

Yeah, exactly. I think that Bay really liked Prime's flames, whereas Megatron's face could be adjusted without too much of a problem. Hopefully that will happen with this dude's ear hair.

If Einstein had hair like Jetfire that was metal and stuff, then I'd be okay. But this looks friggin organic.

I'm not getting my hopes up. There doesn't seem to be as much concentrated outrage as with Megatron before the first film. Besides, Bay was trying to create Megatron - it's Megatron, for crying out loud. He wanted to get it as good as possible. But he's not gonna feel the same with whoever Einstein is.

The hair doesn't bother me and to me I believe it is fiber optic cables so it could possibly light up when he speaks just like the side bits on G1 Wheeljack's head.

I doubt that it's that he doesn't care about our opinions. Obviously he values them at least somewhat. It is our opinions after all, that determine whether or not we see his films. But think about it honestly. Imagine thousands of people all telling you how to do YOUR job. You have your bosses, (the studios and producers), telling you how to do your job. And then you have everyone else with half of an opinion, (TF fans), telling you how to do your job. Not to mention that the fans EACH have their ow opinion on how the job should be done. Bay cannot, under any circumstances, please every Transformer fan out there. Now, given how well the first two movies did, I'd say he please a fair number of them. There is simply no way for Bay, or any other director, to listen to "the fans" and make the movie the way they want it made.

Holy Crap, THIS. Bay can't please everyone, so he's pleasing who he can.

He might, he might not. Personally, I'm fine with the look.

It did. It also changed Soundwave's name first to Soundbyte, and then to Frenzy. It made them save Soundwave for TF2. It made us get Peter Cullen, when Clooney was first considered for the role. Fan outcry led to the Energon Cube being renamed to the Allspark. Roberto Orci also got some ideas from his interaction with the fans on the boards he posted on.

Fans had more influence on the movies than you think.

Why would they? What's wrong with hair on TFs? It's been done before.

It's because it's Bayverse, and apparently things that weren't problems in 1984 are death knells today.

Honestly, if it turns out that Einstein is indeed Wheeljack (I'd probably put money down that he is), and his hair lights up as he speaks, there's going to be a huge turnaround in the fandom with near universal love for the hair.

It could be worse, it could be Dev-Balls all over again.

I'd choose hair over wreaking balls any day.

It's POSSIBLE, but it's not nearly as big a deal as the face of the primary villain, so I doubt anything we say will matter.

For someone like me who actually really likes a lot of the movie designs, I really don't like the hair. I really don't.
I mean if they do go through with the hair, then you know what, I'll get over it. I wont like it. But I'll get over it.

I suppose there's always the possibility that they could change it. It is a much more minor of a change then a complete head redesign, like they did for Megatron.

    Fingers crossed.
