I just call him Shiftlock..gonna start giving them my own names and story to avoid debate. This is a little project i came up with yesterday, only my third 'big' custom...did a sketch of him then finished it all in one day, I'm kinda proud since this is the cleanest one I've been able to do so far. It ready for paint as it is now (which i dread, since I have no patience and really haven't done much painting). If anyone has any suggestions for colour please feel free to leave it in a reply. Any c & c is appreciated, I know I still have a far way to go.

I took the tftm recon barricade..separated the upper and lower arm parts, and created shoulder pads from the remaining upper bits. The other half is glued into the front of the car, including the front wheels. I also cut the hood to allow for a one piece hood. The scoop covers the lines from the cut. I used a ball joint from the wrist of a voyager primes hand, and tftm stockades head, which fit together perfectly. I used a pair of hands from tftm wreckage. Brought the hood down flush onto the waist, cleared alot of areas which would snag.Trying to make him a non police car; I took his light bar off and smoothed the roof down, and glued frenzy into his chest. As before any suggestions or C&C is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I really like this. You can't tell it was a movie toy originally at all.

That looks really good. I would suggest that you bring the lower legs in line with the thighgs as at the moment his lower legs seem like they are missing a part due to the car shell.

Alt Grimlock Colors? It would be appropriate as Barricade was a modified mustang, Alt Grimlock's vehicle mode. And the new bot mode looks fairly close to him.

That really looks like Alternators Wheeljack. To the point where I almost want to copy this and use it as my Wheeljack until Hasbro inevitably releases one.

ETA: Are the entire forearm assemblies taken from Wreckage? if so, how do they attach? can you take some cleaner pics? I really do want to try and copy this.

Nice job... very smooth. I tried to do something similar back when Barricade was first released, though with less success. The final bot has a pleasing simplicity to his overall look and design. I dig it. I'd love to get better pictures of how you handled the mods to the arms and legs.

ha..yeah it does look like him, the head really helps it out too

The entire forearms are from wreckage, just removed his wheels and upper arm, then dremelled his arm down about a mm or two and smoothed and rounded it. I removed the arm from wreckage at the upper elbow joint. It fits on the pegs where barricades elbows fit. I had to enlarge the holes to fit it onto the pegs. For Barricades right arm you have to remove the entire punch arm and pull some rivets for the lower section to use for the leg. Other than that its just alot of fiddling to fit everything in and keep the lines together. I'll try to get some better pics later in the week.

    Thanks everyone

edit..I see the problem with the lower leg, but I dont mind it too much, so its ok with me, I just have to fill those holes on the roof now.

I love this. I'd love to see you repaint the Mustang a nice, candy apple red or something. I also agree with REDLINE's observation. RiD FTW!

The reworked arms make a big improvement to the robot mode which now looks as good as the car mode always has. Nice work!

Surprised that no one's taken this idea that you & SMOG have done & used it to create a better Barricade from this mold - may have to buy this mold after all...

You know what? If I get a Barricade, I'm either gonna retool/repaint him with this idea into a newer Barricade, or make a movie Prowl, if I can have your permission to do it.

Wait, no! I got it! In response to this, I'm adding a new character to the possible character list: *Sorry, its a surprise (possibly)!* But here's a hint: Its a well-known and loved character, not necessarily a TF character...

Well, Prowl is now out of the question, but I guess if nobody uses it, here's my idea: KIT. As in, Knight rider KIT. And I already have his bio. But it probably won't happen, though...

I'm really impressed with the way you pulled this guy away from the movie line and into a RID-ish mustang. I don't know why but I'm not digging the hands too much, I guess I just like the closed grip or articulated look better. Regardless, you made some great strides with this one.
