WIP Prime Arcee Mod - "Valkyrie Mode" updated w/comparisons

    New version here

Hello again. I haven't been able to get much progress lately because I've been so busy. Since the last update, I've modified her neck to be double ball jointed for more mobility (I think it's been done before). Still have a lot of clean up to do and work out some annoying alignment issues.

I have now decided to stick with Dreadwing's sword. It looks too small on him anyway.

This time I just wanted to show some comparisons with both unmodified Prime Arcees. The blue plastic on the arms micron Arcee is very vibrant and just spot on. The pictures on the net don't do it justice. If anyone is looking at purchasing their first Arcee, I would highly recommend this one.

Maybe it was just me but I always thought that the RID Arcee legs were too short.

The FE vehicle mode still is the superior one here. My mod's bike length seems to have shrunken. As a matter of fact, the front end is actually folded in a little bit too close to the body (the front tire hits the knee spikes). It actually can come out some more and the angle of the nose is variable but my joint is so floppy right now that it just sits where it wants to sit. I'll soon be fixing this with tighter joints.

But that's all for now. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks guys. Here's an update of the wings with hinges and backpack attached.

for this to look really good, you really need to sand it down alot and repaint it. looks like you got happy with a chainsaw and hacked it and slashed it. the cuts are pretty messy.

Clean it up a lot and you'll have yourself a really nice Arcee.

I wanted to do something similar but i suck at bashing. :)

    It is looking good though.

pretty boss. love how it can still turn into a bike. I did the cyberverse mod to mine, basically made her an action master by giving her cyberverse wings and even cyberverse wheels. Been thinking of ways to avoid her having a bare behind (she has that skirt thing in the show)...this might just help =D

Thanks! Yeah it was very messy work. A lot of the first stages were engineering by trial and error. There were several revisions and I had to weld some parts back together. I've puttied some of the nasty seams and sanded them smooth. I'll be painting this eventually after I work on the fitment issues some more.

Thanks! The sword and shield are from the FOC Generations Grimlock. I also purchased the FOC Generations Ultra Magnus JUST for the sword. Otherwise I hate that figure! That sword is very sick though. It's a big sword that can change into an even bigger sword.

I did an accidental drop test and she didn't survive. The flimsy wings I had originally had finally snapped but this proved to be serendipitous as it led me to do a pretty major overhaul.

I made the seat lower as it looked too high in vehicle mode. This also made the waist in robot mode look much slender.

I redid the tail to fold up a little bit lower in robot mode to meet the hip line.

I decided to scrap the old wings and thought really hard about how to make a sturdier wing that still transforms into the side of the gas tank. The idea didn't hit me right away but I noticed that the rear wheel fender on the RID has a great shape and definitely sturdy. It is still fully articulated and will resist a drop test. It still transforms into vehicle mode and looks better and more interesting.

Now onto the best part, I knew that in the final build, I'm not going to incorporate the front tire into the robot mode but I must use it. It looked like a cop out to slap it onto the forearm and call it a shield. And it was hard to get any good arm pose from where it sits. As you can see, by incorporating the twin blades (which I would've otherwise hardly used) I was able to create a convincing bladed shield. I added a handle so that she can hand carry. This, I am super happy with!

Putting a handle on her RID blade came next and I think it's better this way than awkwardly on her forearm and pairs nicely with the shield.

I looked around for a figure that I can sacrifice for spare parts, plastic and screws and it was none other than ROTF Arcee. What I forgot about was that it has a fixed retractable blade and thought it HAS to go on my new build. The joint was big enough that I could shave down to 5mm. Now it can mount on her forearm and looks kind of like a blaster and YES it retracts!

Now she has a distinguishable look and arsenal from normal mode to "Valkyrie mode." From the ground up, I intended for her Valkyrie mode to have features that of Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile- as in the sword, shield and skirt.

I'll still make the nose removable as it makes her normal mode look so much better. Strangely, having it attached in Valkyrie mode looks better- almost like a hood.

I feel like I am pretty much done with the logistics and will be putting more attention on strengthening the new joints. Then I'll be taking this to the finishing stage.

    -Bonus-

I added a pic with a shot of Smokescreen with a big ass sword (FOC Ultra Magnus). I think this makes a great duo and the weaponry and really compliment each other.

I might add I also modded Smokescreen a little bit. I trimmed part of the window joint so that it can now fold to look a lot less like Knockout. That's also Knockout's gray shoulder bit.

Sorry for the wall of text but I hope you enjoy!

Just thought I'd give this a bump with an update and comparison photos to original Arcee Prime figures. I'll be updating pictures on my first post on page 1 from now on. Please look there!

This looks great, and I have been inspired to make my own. I will mod it a bit different but I really like where you went with it. I had issues with the giant backpack Arcee was rocking. But doing what you did made it work out great, and gives me another excuse to get a 3rd Arcee toy, 4th counting beast hunters... but who's counting. :D

I didn't expect to see a post on this one. Thanks for your comment! If you'd like you can check out my new version. The link is on the first post of this thread. I quite literally bought 3 first class Arcees (1 pink), 1 PRID and 1 Arms Micron and next will also be the beast hunters Arcee... -_-'

Good luck with your mod! Please throw me a message when you're done.
