Late last year I got the Jinjiang ko of generation toy Devastator. This was a rather cheap and simplified version (that had positives compared to the nbk personally) he looked decent on the shelf but with the virus and all this time i saw room for improvement. first up is mixmaster. First thing that bugged me was his mixing barrel. So i removed that and now im working on adding one from universe quickmix
So far it’s just resting. I’m not sure how to mount it right now. but for $70 (aud so like 40-50 usd i think) its not a bad set. Nothings broken and it displays well
Unfortunately i went with the undersized CW devastor i like the scale but the little dudes need some work.
Longhaul Currently as I work out mounting a new barrel for mixmaster I’ve decided to work on longhaul. First thing i wanted to do was add new wheels to increase the height of the truck. Wheels are shown here. Next i want to add joints so they fold as they do on the generation toy release. A lot of this is a learning curve for me this is the first time I’ve removed pins with a soldering iron and its a lot easier than i thought but i warped a bit of plastic accidentally so i have to fix the pegs the wheels will mount on
Hook Hook himself doesn’t need much work personally in bot and alt mode besides some extra details. Combined mode is where the issues are (and will be taking priority with the whole lot here as thats how they will be displayed) Using gundam parts I’ve made a new way to mount the chestplate and am now modding the chestplate itself to be slightly articulated
Combined mode chest is now more to my liking just need to find somewhere online that sells styrene and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg Added silver details all around devy. individual bots still need work
