Minor/Repaint: WIP MP Rodimus Prime G1 toon colors (post movie)

    Pick 1 episode from season 3.....his main color differs from a Wine to a grape to a dark violet and a burgundy
    i went with a Wine and some violet.
    i dyed him in a wine color...but i ended up leavin him a lil too long in the hot water and the Vents on his shoulders got warped ...The color came out a darker rich red. but it wasnt what i was lookin for, but it set for a nice base.
    so i had to mix some color to get the wine with a hint of violet. Threw on some darker orange and slapped him with Flat clear

    sanded down his chin a bit.
    threw in a q-tip stick in the gun to keep the barrel extended.(later replaced with a styrene piece)
    just a few things i have to do to finish .
    repair the vents and put the Flame on his chest.
    dunno if i should paint the chrome pipes to a grey or just leave as is.
    im not even gonna bother transforming this guy

    UPDATE.
    fixed the shoulder vents...
    and added flames........all it needs is the autobot logo. and another flat coat =)
    Small UPDATE. 10.7.12.
    i added a LED behind the Matrix, this will not effect transformation.

    That is such a nice paintjob, shame about the shoulder vents, but the deco looks awesome.

    I cant believe how big of a difference sanding that chin made. The face is much improved.

    took me a while to find the right orange......i stumbled into a nascar model forum. In 1 of the threads the peeps were spray testin diff brands and shades of colors onto white spoons.
    ....i used testors Go Mango Orange as my base.

    i would have totally loved this over the hotrod toy hybrid they gave us. if delta star doesn't make stickers to make him all g1, i may end up doing this!

    REALLY liking how this is coming out. The color choices looks right out of the animation dude, great work! I see you got the parts that warped in the dye to go back to heir shapes too, so that's a big plus!! Good job man!
