This started out as some lite repaints of TR TriggerHappy and TFP Wheeljack to make some more medic bots to help Ratchet, but I got really into it since my wife and I were expecting our son to be born. Learning how to use acrylics and have them look decent was oddly calming. I'm still learning, but just taking my time when my son takes his naps and I have time to sit down at the end of the day. I'll take some better pics tomorrow to show the new progress (since I scrubbed all the old acrylic paint off). The arms are just a test fit because I didn't like TFP Wheeljack's and I haven't found a place or way to integrate them into the build just yet. For her head, I want a more "helmet" look.. like in the cartoon. So I'm considering cutting the top of Nightbeat's headmaster head and replacing it with the top of TriggerHappy's.
Luck, a lot of practice, a lot of heartache, inspiration from others, patience and above all: The tons of links made available on the Radicons forums!
I also want to expand upon this and say that I've been tinkering with this project for a couple of months. At the time, my son's birth was fast-approaching and I was High-stressed! My usual rabbit-holing into video games wasn't working, so I started playing with ideas and some panned out to be viable, while others... are far beyond my ability. I don't consider myself talented by any means. There are amazing artists here that blow my mind with their ideas and accomplishments. Everyone starts somewhere, though. Don't be afraid to try something. Start simple and work your way up. Research A LOT! Ask questions! ***BUT*** Make what makes you happy. If that's what you want. <3
Nice! I've been thinking about how to make a Minerva for my collection, so I'm very interested to see where this goes.
Yupyup. Just gotta workout the arms as far as location and design (if I don't go with the ones I'm using as mock ups).
