So I thought to myself it'd be cool if Vortex got a jet mode like in the game. So I got an idea to make use of the peg holes on the side of his body in chopper mode. I have a question as well, what are some good ways to make a custom 5mm port?
I can't answer your question but I can comment on the task. I considered using Vortex to make another plane bot. I toyed with a few ideas. I took off the blades and considered adding wings just like you plan to do (and ran into the same problem). My biggest thing was that I was spinning it 180. I was going to use the real front for the back and make the rea tail look nosecone-ish. But I couldn't find good wings not could I figure out how to store them on his back in robot mode. So I abandonded the project. But to actually try and answer your question, I think in the tutorial stuff there is a thread about using some straws as 5mm pegs.
The best way I have found to make a 5mm port is to start with a small drill bit and work your way up slowly until you have reached the desired width.
You can find a type of silly straws at any walk mart they tend to be in the grocery part on a small display. They are bent into twists and bends but the top and bottom are Good
Walmart has the silly straws. They are the perfect size. I like th idea of Vortex having a jet mode like the game.
if you use silly straws and have issues finding them try the party section at Walmart. Mine keeps them there.
Hunh!Silly straws.Who would've thought?I learn something new everyday on this website.Keep up the cool project!
