This is Fairy Leviathan. She is a boss from the Mega Man Zero series, and is one of the guardian reploids (replicated android) of Neo Arcadia.

This is a custom my dear, beloved, beleaguered boyfriend tried to do for me, but could never get around to completing. So he gave her to me to finish the job. Unfortunately, I don't have his blue, so I hafta do over some of his paint work. He did get her sculpted however, except her helmet and ranseur, but that's ok. She started out as a cheap Ghoulia Yelps Monster High doll.

This is where he left off.

I'm nervous about painting her face, because I've never worked with flesh tones before. So yeah, I hope I don't screw that up. :redface2:

Take your time and be patient with it...also you may want to thin out you paints (especially when using whites or yellows, and flesh-tones). Good luck!

Np. Everyone here has gone through what you are attempting. So never be afraid to ask, and someone will answer. Also youtube has a lot of tutorials :)

I've been layering the white paint areas, fixed up some mistakes, made some new ones, and added the back straps.

I took a small nail and hammered it in as gently as I could. This will serve as the decorative "fin" piece on the back of her helmet, which I will attach via thumb tack. Fortunately, her helmet is made of softer, squishier plastic, so I can just push it right through. I mean, if it can go through walls, it can go through soft plastic.

Trying her with the helmet, and hey, it fits. Hooray for McGuyvering! Obviously the helmet won't be the same as the actual Leviathan's, but I'll take whatever I can get, and am capable of.

Working on her helmet more. Started with a layer of white, so the blues and red will show up more easily. Waiting for it to dry, then I'll add a second layer.

There's a difference between constructive criticism and being a jerk.
May be time to learn the difference?

Not everyone is at the same level as far as customizing goes, and not everyone has access to all the tools of the trade.

Instead of being rude or insufferable, it's best to help people grow as customizers instead of stunting them with negativity. Constructive criticism is meant as a learning tool, not as a way to insult and belittle.

On topic, I like where this is going. I do feel as though you may need to try some better paints sometime, because craft paints usually don't have the same pigment and adherence quality as Vallejo, Testers, etc.

    (See, that wasn't difficult.)

    @Dachande
    *sings*
    Customs are strange
    When I'm a cheapskate
    Faces look wicked
    When I am done

But yeah I agree with you on the paint thing, I probably should invest in better supplies at some point. Plus I've had that shade of turquoise blue forever, I'm surprised it hasn't turned into a solidified chunk. Haha. :D

That happens way too easily. I have about 100 Vallejo bottles, and found about five today that are nearly solid since I've had them for years.

Craft paints are okay for simple stuff, but even though they're acrylic they usually don't adhere well due to the thickness. You also can't thin them as well as actual hobby paint because the pigments are heavy.

I would suggest hitting up a Hobby Lobby, Michael's or hobby store that sells miniatures, find a few colors you really like and try them out. You will be amazed at the difference.

Looks good so far! I second what everyone is saying about paint, may I suggest tamiya? They work well for tfs and I’m assuming the plastic on this figure is similar enough for that to work out well.
Curious what you’ll do once you get to the head with all that hair that needs removing

Everyone has to start somewhere man, and no one magically shits out kingbots and encline level customs on thier first go. Try not being so rude about it. Wat kind of a person says "u may aswell switch to this because ur effort is terrible"?...

Looking forward to seeing this finished! Always happy to see someone do a custom from the Megaman series.
