This was going to be my '84 shelf's updated Wheeljack, but my modded E. Downshift is coming along more nicely than I thought - even if he is voyager-sized. I'll toss this up for ideas and inspiration.

Got a few PMs about perfect-transform Streaker-jack wings. Since this guy's so heavily modified, it might be a bit tough to follow along, but the door/wing mod is simple enough. ^^ I just used a Universe Sunstreaker, TFTM Legends Scorponok for the balljoints, some adhesives n putty. Use what you have on hand.

First step is to pop the doors off this guy's arms. Set 'em aside for now.

Second step is to drill holes! Make them right in the sockets where the door normally pegs into the hood. Now glue some small ballposts in place. Stuff from minicons/loc figures usually works.

Third step! Transform this guy into his alt mode. You'll also want to put whatever socket you're going to use on the posts. Since I finished this mod, I don't really have the option, but keep it in mind. ^^

Step four! Lotsa trimming to the doors. Pegs gotta go, area needs to be trimmed. I personally removed the window bits, trimmed them, and glued them to the canopy. I don't think it's necessary though. What you really want to do is make room for the socket. DO NOT try to adhere the sockets to the doors just yet - only focus on what cutting needs to be done.

Fifth step~ Fit the doors back onto the alt mode. From here, you can ensure everything fits together nicely. Adhere the sockets to the doors.

Final Step! Enjoy your perfect-transform Streaker-jack wings. =3

. . . And some random alt shots, just for fun.

    Don't really know what to do with this guy now. ^^;

Nice work! You've got some sanding to do but that screams WJSS.

That's a cool idea. I was simply going to add styrene wings that swing out from under the hood, mounted by screw. I might consider this as a more modern approach.

Off the top of my head, I'd say you could go with Marlboor or Slicer, although I bet you could root around TFU.info or the TF Wiki and find another cool character to work with.

Great! Im liking how you are sculpting the car mode instead of using a model kit.

Nice, if you alter the bodywork at the front to be a bit more rounded with the wings he could make a good tracks

    k

Very nice, I had a Wheeljack zipper ring thing back in the day, I loved him, these days i wonder why the Scientist need a big honking shoulder cannon.

I would definately buy this if Hasbro made it, the Cybertron mold was a nice homage but I never picked it up.

Ooh, that would be a fun idea. The way the door-wings transform, I can give the bot-mode white wings while keeping the alt-mode doors blue! Makes working on the head a good deal easier, too. =3

That'd work really well on the other 'jack I've got going on. Thanks a bunch. o.o

I didn't strip any paint from the windows. The roof area was just sanded down.
