Hello. I'm back with a quick look at another custom combiner team that I've been slowly working on since 2016 and that is also a part of my headcannon. Please keep in mind that NONE of these are finished yet but some are closer than others. There is one of these guys that I've done no work on yet. So as a result, I will not give my usual list of materials used in there creations. But alot of it is obvious Firstly, a quick look at the entire team in vehicule mode: The idea behind this team is thay they where amongst the few vaguely Autobot affiliated Cybertroniens to stay on Cybertron when the ARK left(during the events of Fall of Cybertron), alongside the Wreckers and a few others, in the vain hope to fend off Shockwaive's Decepticon forces to prevent them from fully taking over and aid any wayward survivors who could not make it in time. And after 4 Billon years, they are all that remains of the formerly vast Cybertron Police Force who used to number in at least 1 million if not more. Eventually, they where found by a VERY, VERY old bot by the name of Toolbox(another one of my OC'S) and where upgraded to be able to combine by him. FYI, Prowl, Ironfist and Cop-Out where also members of the CPF before the war. Eventually, they do wind up following Toolbox back to earth(where the rescaned into earthmodes) when an Autobot task force sent from Earth during season 3 came back to Cybertron in order to figure out a way to revive and bring back Metroplex to fight against the restored Triptycon in a new body. OH YEAH! Here is a quick look at what I have done so far for the regular Autotroopers(though since they are both identical, I'll show only one): Robot mode: The idea with these guys is what you would expect. They are the basic law enforcement officers, the grunts if you will, of the CPF. Vehicule mode: Next up is the more specialised Heavy Autotrooper(both are still identical): The idea with the Heavy Autotroopers is basically the exact same idea as modern-day SWAT teams. Vehicule mode: Next up is the teams tactical field coordinator, Backup: Robot mode: Given the current circumstances, he serves as the team's second in command under Checkpoint. Vehicule mode: And here is a picture of the least worked on membres of the team: The idea with them is that I will paint Trailbreaker into the G1 retconned A.T commander Checkpoint: Streetwise is going to get a slight repaint, though I will be keeping him mostly the same, into my OC By-Law. At this point, I would like to thank TFW2005's Skert for inspiring the chestpiece mod that I did to By-Law. To find out how it was done, follow the link to Skert's page. You will also find his AWESOME G2 Motormouth custom, which I used to start my own Motormouth. As for Groove, he will be given either the same A.T head or a new head altogether to make him into my Interceptor unit. And lastly, the combined mode, Pursuit! This is him in his standard mode. And that's all I've got for now. They still all need work. The list is as follows: 1. Paint Checkpoint 2. Finish By-Law 3. Get or make new head for Groove to make him a A.T or OC Interceptor. 4. Finish painting details for A.Ts 5. Moddify Pursuit's head 6. Aquire needed Reprolables 7. Aquire upgrade kits for hands/feet and MAYBE the Beelzeboss kit for CW Battle Core OP. That's still a good amount but not TOO laborious, specially in comparison to some of my other projects that I'm currently working on but still. I will update this thread with more as I go along and will properly give my list of materials as I complete the figures. Hope you all enjoy and see you next time!
seeing as how you have two rooks. you should use them as feet and make it a 7 bot combiner and the final member can pull a gun mode or something like the Seasons do with their extra member. looks good so far though!
agreed, then the name "Pursuit" would make even more sense because he could wheel down any combiner runaways!
You don't have to pay attention to my thoughts on this, but.... The OCs are basically our Autotrooper officers, right? It feels to me like you need another officer to make a 'vanilla' combiner using just the officers, as opposed to where you can make a combiner with just the generic troopers. Something a little more special like that should be considered, although I couldn't tell you what a fifth officer would be. The real trick is doing it without just simply re-creating Defensor.
Hello. I have a short and quick update for you all. I added extra details too the standard Autotroopers. I painted their crotchpieces and knees with extra details on there shoulders to closer emulate other Autotrooper toys: And here is the extra details in vehicule mode to make them pop a bit more like the real thing: That is it for now. I still have more work on these 2 still on top of all the others of this team. The next thing that I want to do with these 2 is get my hands on some sets of Siege Autotrooper Reprolables to help them resemble this a bit closer: That way, I can hybridize the look a bit and give them their designated numbers. I also need to get more CW Prowl Reprolables to touch up the ones that aren't holding up that great. After that, these guys will be done. I want to add extra updates in the next few days as I am currently adding extra details to Backup and preping the others to be worked on along with finishing up as much as possible another project I'm highly anticipating to show you. Hope you like it and see you then!
Hello. I'm back with yet another quick update. This time it's just a bit of extra touch-ups for Backup and finally moded his combiner mode head. To start with, I added alot of extra details to his vehicule mode's backplate to make it a bit more practical. I also sanded and repainted the black on the side and back to make it ALOT smoother and cleaner. Next I added a bunch of extra details in robot mode. I sanded his chest to get rid of the windows as much as possible as he is not suposed to resemble Optimus that much, but you can still see them. I'll try to fix that later. As you can see, I also added details to his arms. And lastly, like I said, Pursuit's head now looks like it should. The antenna is bendable. I added vent detail and touched up his crotchpiece. And with his new Perfect Effects hands and feet: He looks much better! These upgrade kits really make a difference. So that's all for the time being. I still have a nice way to go for this project, and even Backup himself is not fully finished. I still need to get the CW Ultra Magnus or B.C OP convertion Reprolables to match up his windows and add some details, maybe get one of the upgrade kits to enhance his truck or combiner mode or both, make him a gun and a trailer, like one of those mobile command centers as he is the field coordinator of the team, and touch up his robot mode headsculpt. On other news, I finally got my hands on more masking tape, molding putty and some paint thanks to some restrictions being lifted where I live. I wasn't able to walk through my local municipal park to get to the large shopping disrict where the hardwear stores are, but now I can! So now I can continue on with more of my projects. This also means that I FINALLY have enough masking tape to start spraypainting Checkpoint! And the newest membre of the team, Speedtrap. But I'll talk more about that next time. Until then, enjoy!
Hello everyone, I've got another small update. This time I've begun working on the leader of the Autotroopers, Checkpoint. More specifically, I'm trying to make his vehicule mode resemble a GMC Sierra 2020 1500. Granted, it will eventually be a modified police variant. I still need to adjust the front grill as I didn't make it wide enough, and also adjust the back bumper. After that I'll be able to start painting him.
This team looks wonderful so far, I've always had a fondness for the Autotroopers. Once you're finished with these guys, you ought to make a team of combining Vehicons to counter them.
Hello. Got a quick update here. I finished molding and etched the details on Checkpoint's vehicule mode front. Took me a few days but I got there. I also added more putty to fill in some gaps in his side and the rear bumper. He now resembles a GMC Sierra 2020 much more. That's it for the time being. I'll be able to start painting him now. I also have the stickers to give him his caution stripes. Hope you enjoy and see you next time!
Hello everyone! It's beem a bit since I uploaded something, so I figured I'd do an update on a project that I've been working on just as slowly. And, holy crap! I think 3 years is long enough for this one! Though this will be just another small update, I think it's a fairly important one. So, what have I done this time? Well, firstly, I made the decision to take the pickup truck that was going to be Checkpoint and make him into an OC instead because I want to take a crack at making a much more accurate Checkpoint later down the line in voyager scale. I haven't thought of new name yet, but it will come to me. And because he isn't going to be Checkpoint anymore, I decided to add a shoulder missile to him using a spare Classics Prowl missile I had lying around for years(I used the body for another custom I did back in my earlier customizing days). I installed it cutting out some plastic from under the hood and pinning it in: It still folds down and still has clearance in vehicule mode. And for some odd reason, I spraypainted the vehicule shell white in between all of this: I also started on the roof lights by drilling a hole on the roof: Then I just took the leftover rooflight from the same Classics Prowl as the missile and pinned it to a strip of styrene: For transformation purposes, it will be able to rotate. Now, with all of the white spraypainting done and sealed with clearcoat and having painted the front end of the truck black, I wanted to add missing detail to the front grill and bumper to really make it ressemble the GMC Sierra 2020. Having etched it i the black paint really, REALLY helped! It isn't perfect, but once I paint it all properly and add the front bumper, some of the flaws will be fixed. For anyone whom is curious how I the etching, I have an old hobbie knife with a blunt blade and a tip that snapped off years ago, so it's squared off. That's what I used to etch this stuff. So, what does all of this amount to do far? This: There is, unfortunatly, a little yellowing on the arm piece, but that started immideatlly after I applied the paint. I'm thinking it has something to do with the plastic that I sanded down, but I'm gonna paint that section anyway. Do no big deal. So that will do it for now in this update. Short and sweet. I am looking forward to continuing this project more given all that I still have to do, but for the time being, I'm going to go back to focusing on my 3 ActionRemastered customs that I'm simultaneously working on. As well ae 2 other custom projects. Yep, I went off of the deep end again. So much for trying to streamline my self imposed workload I hope you all enjoyed and I will see you all next time.
Looks fantastic! If you want some names, here's a few ideas Jay-walk Outpost Badge Lighter (in reference to police lights) Holster Either way, I'm excited to see where this project goes!
