A compilation of all the stuff I've seen posted from the 2006 WWF event in Tokyo. The biggest news first, I've been waiting to see this for months now and it turns out to have been well worth it. Good Smile Companys Tachikoma, complete with Motoko Kusanigi, Due in December, for 17'800yen, suspected to be diecast (it had better be for that price!) clearer picture, *Link removed, because the pic was down and was redirecting to adult banners... Nap* & the rest, Takaras Microman Scopedog/ Chirico, Kaiyaidos new line of superposeable figures & some Escaflowne trading figures, http://www.toysdaily.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33552 one very poor picture each of Yamatos Garland & Shogo Yahaghi (Megazone 23), & Takaras Masterpiece Great Exkaiser/re-issue Great Goldran http://www.toysdaily.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33558 Bandai's newest SOC's, http://www.toysdaily.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33557 massive gallery, incuding batshit crazy SHE's latest work (Brave express Mightgaine & Gunbuster) among dozens of other things, http://toycan.net/g/r/750/ Lots on the way from burgenoning figure kings, Max Fcatory http://angelsrep.plala.jp/~fumiyuki/figure02/200602/2006wfw02.html Big album of very clear pictures of Kaiyodos new revolver joint figure line, good looking figures from a random selection of subjetcs. http://photobucket.com/albums/v51/Fortmax/revoltech/ Anything else I see will be posted here.
My gad, Studio HalfEye continues to be some kind of toy design deity. If you guys haven't checked out the details of their GoldyMarg figure...it's badass. And man, I can't wait to see their take on the Great Might Gaine components. Sure, it might get Masterpiece'd by Takara, but I still wanna see the details of SHE's design. Someday I'll have the income to -buy- one of their pieces, but that doesn't stop me from respecting the hell outta their work either way.
Cool! Hey what scale is the Tachikoma/Major set in? I've been wanting the kit that is in 1:24 scale, but if that new set is in the same scale, well I'd wait for that!
Judging purely by the Motoko figure, it looks to be around microman scale which would put it very roughly at 1:18. If the figure is smaller then a microman then it's all the more impressive. first post edited with a big gallery of Kaiyaidos new multi franchise figure line.
>_< and I had already made my own Motoko Microlady a couple months ago! Oh well...at least it's a different version of the Major. *squees* KATAMARI DAMACY FIGURES/STATUES!
My wallet just screamed in anticipation. Escaflowne trading figures, that new Getter One figure, and all of those Max Factory ATs must be mine. I can't believe how much Votoms stuff MF is putting out, it's just too awsome.
Looks like a new 'Major' proto Was suprised to see Dante (DMC) in there with the Kaiyodos. Lot's of nice suprises in those links and a few Ive never heard of. Some overwhelming stuff for the ol pockets (wallet just ran off and hid) Can't get the Great Exkaiser/re-issue Great Goldran link to work. Will try again later. Can't wait for some reviews on those as MP Exkizer's getting lonely. Must get a Katamari king fig. Thanks for all the sweet info man.
nope, no Superman Micros yet, only the April 2006 releases and Microlady body V2 in a capsule with leds
Those Revolver Joint figures are badass. They are as poseable as the more espensive varieties but they seem really sturdy and I friggin' adore their "toy" feel. I mean; they feel like toys, not something expensive that breaks if you look at it funny. Also; Dante comes with a guitar that transform into a sword. How badass isn't that? Much, much cool stuff in them galleries. SHE's Mightgaine looks groovy. It won't stop Takara making a Masterpeice (as seen regarding Exkaizer) but SHE is SHE and their engineering rocks. I thought we'd get a glimpse of the Gold Lightan and Legend of Daiku Maryu Gaiking SOCs... Bit dissapointed. The new Gaiking has many new gimmicks and the Gold Lightan SOC is rumored to be; in lack of usable gimmicks, decorated with REAL FRIGGIN' GOLD. (It changes into a boxy lighter) Wonder if any new Ryukendo and things where shown or if this whas -only- for the real "collectible" type stuff...
WTF? I really need to visit Japan at some point in my life, if only for the toys. Well, that and the booze. Er, that and the booze and the women.
