Thought this might be a nice variation on "post your latest TF purchase," specifically limited to TF acquisitions relating to birthday gifts! Well, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I got a mighty impressive haul of TF figures, across several generations! Favourite of all was Animated Shockers. I'm a bit of a Decepticon fan in general, especially the Cycloptic, purple one! I was lucky enough to track down a G1-repaint/Activator Bumblebee 2-pack here in the UK on Amazon so I could use the voucher I received to pay for it! Pics: "At last, I can reveal my true colours, my liege!" Shockwave & his buddies... Activator Bumblebee got claimed by my girlfriend, as she's a bit of a BB fan... But, to be honest, I don't know if the lil' yellow guy was in more trouble with his box-mate..: ...or my girlfriend's 3-yr old daughter! Other than that, I got the TIE Bomber/Pilot X-Over, which goes nicely towards making a cool TIE squadron with the Vader I got a couple of years ago... I also bagged the sneak-peek RotF Soundwave, who's mighty awesome, and Legends Prime, Geriatric-Fire & Mini-Megs: Although Bumblebee's tormentor (the 3-yr old, not Shockwave!) decided that the "'Former got fairy wings!" when she saw Prime & JF combined! Finally, I got Animated Jazz (and Longarm Prime) to fill out my growing Elite Guard collection: On a side-note, I couldn't help but wonder if Shockwave was an unused design for Megatron. I took a couple of comparison shots to show what I mean: Shockwave's cannon has the same markings on it as Animated Megatron's, which got me thinking first of all, then I noticed the horns and the alt-mode, and how much I thought they resembled Armada Megatron/Galvatron, especially the quad-treaded tank, high shoulders/tank treads...
Nice haul but Longarm Prime/Shockwave wasn't inthe elite guard, he was in intelligence ( unlessmy memory is totally screwed up today) (EDIT) he was in the Elite Guard before Intelligence XD
Great haul man! What do you have soundwave perched on in that first pic of him. Also, I think animated shockwave has similarities to armada megs only cuz they're both H-tanks.
It's a wire-frame CD rack! Soundwave's really poseable, and he's got a nice, low centre of gravity, couple with really articualted feet, which makes him quite good at perching on things!
