Do you not like it, or you just think it gets too much fanfare?

well i definitely think it gets way too much fanfare...i mean there were windblade fan clubs before she said a single line. you have to admit the fanfare has hyped this like crazy. they said the creators hyped drift too much? the fans hyped windblade too much. nothing ruins anything faster than overzealous fans. hell it's happening to crosshairs in the movieverse as we speak "OMG DID YOU SEE THAT ONE SCENE FROM THE TRAILER??? THAT FLIP??? CROSSHAIRS IS THE MOST BADASS TF EVAAAAAR!!!"

personally the book is just alright. i dont really like the art for a tf book. it's clean its pretty the coloring is great as well but it would be great for almost any other book or even if it came from someone's deviantart page. here? i dunno just looks off to me. the first book didnt "blow me away" "impress" or had a "strong opening" as some people tout it. in fact some of the dialogue isn't that great either. come on that whole "ooooo im telling ironhide you said he's old" "o-m-g you better not" part made me shudder with how bad it was.

im a tf fan and it's four issues im giving it it's shot till the end but some people are making this out to be the greatest thing ever and it's just mediocre. it's not bad but it's not that great.

I suggest you get some ear plugs and ignore every bit of the Windblade fandom. I haven't heard/read a single utterance from them and I judge Windblade's character merely on what I've read in the first issue; that she seems to have a likeable personality.

I'm liking the book and the character, but the hype/flawless reviews are even getting to ME.

I was interested to see if the other major Transformers news outlets would continue to review Windblade after issue 1 given the complete lack of interest shown in both RID and MTMTE. Interesting don’t you think?

Good thing this review wasn't flawless, then? :/

    No problem. :)

Confused as to what you mean here. Feel free to elaborate.

The review doesn't say the book is flawless, though.

It's just positive. Personally I think Windblade is a good book, it's just not for me. I'm simply not invested in the characters or setting. I can see people being a bit turned off from the hype. The book was hardcore-pimped before it came out, what'd you expect from a creative team that wanted their work to succeed? But it is a good book, so don't mistake genuine quality for band-wagon-hopping.

The review is good, and refrains from spoiling the big thing that will likely determine just how strong even fans feel the writing is.

Will do. Issue 1 of Windblade was reviewed by the following sites. (Granted the latter are not Transformers sites.)

    TFW2005
    The Underbase
    FMH
    Iacon Underground
    Seibertron
    Tformers
    Florida Geek Scene
    comics spectrum
    Rhymes with Geek
    graphic policy
    Unleash the fanboy
    Sons of Corax

    RID was reviewed on
    The Underbase
    FMH
    Seibertron
    Unleash the fanboy.

I was simply pondering why there is a discrepancy. Now granted I’m sure these are not the only sites to cover these two books and perhaps something can be said for the fact Windblade is an issue 1. But it makes me wonder if the secret illuminate are not at work...

I don't think you need to look to the Illuminati for your illumination. The comics scene lately has kind of been a hotspot of controversy lately, with a certain DC comics artist reacting poorly to a female reviewer's analysis of his cover. It just so happened that Windblade, with its all-female creative team and female main character, started around this same point. I would imagine the extra news outlets are keeping an eye on the Windblade series to see how Hasbro and its fans handle it.

I'm totally not talking about your review Mecha. I guess that particular comment would be misunderstood, in a review thread. Your review's are good. I've read many off site that evidently this book is the second coming of Jeebus.
