I too need to see more on Swindle. I do like that he's a Decepticon who's grown a conscience (we have lots of those) but he's still basically a selfish, troublesome guy. I do have to say that if Starscream didn't actually promise him something else that we haven't seen yet, this was a pretty bad Swindle story.

There's potential, though, if Swindle himself sees this as a backslide or a failure and tries to get better. And then there's potential again if he's shanghaied into Bruticus or whatever and is compelled against his new (or old) nature.

I like to think two things might be a factor:

    1) He tried to turn over a new leaf, and got nothing for it. He gets fed up with going nowhere and slides back into his older persona.

    2) Starscream has just dangled a giant prize in front of him, and the means to (seemingly) grab it with ease. All the resources of a colony are a mighty big prize (he didn't know Caminus was in trouble, after all). combine that with a combiner to make it near-foolproof might have made something too appetizing for him to turn down.

I like that he's still a con artist at heart, looking for a big score. I do hope they don't just make him a "bad guy." His rescuing of Blurr during the big battle was awesome. I mean, does he even have connections with the Combaticons these days? He doesn't fit with them at all, if the other four are more of an elite commando unit.

It's a weird crossover for IDW. They've done a lot of great things with these characters, put them outside their boxes. I'm enjoying CW, but... I'm hoping CW doesn't force the writers to completely revert some. The Stunticons weren't doing much, so what. Starscream is still manipulative. The Protectbots other than First Aid are basically blank slates. We'll see where it goes --- you know Galvatron and ProwlVastator should get in somewhere.

Thankful for the characters still on the Lost Light and not being affected by the shenanigans.

That's the impression that I got from Swindle. From what we've seen of post-war Cybertron, there doesn't seem to be a lot for former Decepticons to do in the new world. Do they have jobs for all these guys? They seem to essentially be living in slums outside of Iacon. In "Punishment" it was made very clear that there are a lot of people in Iacon that want them all dead or banished.

So with that in mind, how is Swindle supposed to turn over a new leaf? At some point, his old insticts had to kick in and when Starscream gave him the opportunity for a big score, he decided to go for it.

If we saw that then I would more okay with, but it was like we saw him start to turn his life around, I mean we even saw before all the Dark Cybertron stuff he helped Blurr and other Autobots because "someone had too". But like I said it feels like they just flipped the switch and made bad again because they needed him to be.

Are Red Leader and Yellow Leader male or female....I keep imaging red sometimes as a woman or more lighter male voice....usually Razer's voice from Green Lantern due to their similarities in design.

I love how she drew them and I need toys of them Pronto!

I really liked this issue, and I love the ending that showed a new charcter direction for one of my favorite autobots. And I have to say it's a great idea to explore that facet of him, and how it affects everyone around him.

I can definitely see the Razer-ness you guys are getting from Red Leader. I get that as well, w/ a touch of Terrasaur as well (in looks).

Pretty much this. Many people, especially the NAILS are treating the war vets like utter trash. So even if a Con or an Autobot want to turn a new leaf, how can they do that if they are constantly spat on?

Yellow leader is female, Red leader is male. Per Mairghread Scott's Tumblr.

Shotgun Mermaid — Can we get some genders? Yellow Leader is a she...

    Yellow Leader is a "she"?

    Good.

I like this reversal of traditional body types for genders.

Considering for how long Strika was the only female TF without a supermodel physique.

Oh! Yea, now that I know, I see it. Very Strika-esque.

So I have been seeing people calling Alpha Bravo as actually Vortex in disguise.

It would make sense. Starscream placed him on the team, and Starscream created Bruticus in G1 toon.

So if you think that is possible ... who do you think Rook and Offroad are under disguise as?

    Glad I'm not alone. :D

Yellow Leader is a fembot...cool. I was already reading her with Prime Wheeljack's voice but I'll change it.

    Fuck the NAILS man.

    Ahahaha I love it.

I think the NAILS are too heavy-handed in execution. They're SO angry at the war, and damage to Cybertron, etc... Primus, man. They left the war behind. They weren't out there fighting and dying, watching comrade after comrade die. They can't be so clueless to how terrible and bad the Decepticons were. Megatron (with the Cons under him) murdered over 100 billion lifeforms during the course of the war. Come off it, you know? The entire galaxy blacklisted Cybertronians because of the war. Shit was bad.

    Exactly.

and yet without this war...the functionists would have won.

Their is no winning in the IDW continuity.
