So I got Titans Return Hot Rod, very cool toy. Is Rodimus Prime even featured in any media nowadays? I liked the G1 toy when I was a kid, hope we get an upgrade sometime. Titanium doesn't count.

I got him and I was pretty disapointed. Not sure if I'm still interested in seeing what takara does with him or not.

I wasn't going to touch this line, but I got Blurr and Scourge both on a whim and LOVED them both. Bought a few more because of that and everything else I've grabbed has disapointed me.

 

He's a great figure. Awesome vehicle mode. Way better than Classics.

I definitely prefer Classics vehicle mode. That was the one thing I though CHUG did very well. It is possible that a good enough deco on takara's part might let the bot mode outshine here- but those massive shoulders hiding the spoiler do not do him any favors.

 

Hope so. I want one done in the same style as Leader UM and Titanium Rodimus with the winnebago alt mode. I'm tired of just car Rodimus toys.

In the comics Hot rod changed his name to Rodimus to basicaly sound more mature and to help his aspirations to become a prime

 

I think TR Hot Rod is worth it for vehicle mode alone, honestly.

We need a new Rodimus Prime. I'm thinking voyager class would work, maybe.

 

it will be some time but i do think they will give us rodimusprime as a voyager its kinda anoying, but you never know maybe if they do a micromaster themed line they can slap him in as a larger deluxe with turrent

 

I'd say 'no', or at least 'not in Titans Return', because the names are basically interchangeable.

We got Rodimus in Combiner Wars. We got Hot Rod in Titans Return. They easily coulda been called the other name and I don't think that many people would've annoyed.

 

I don't know much about the character, I had G1 Rodimus as a kid, and later learned he was an upgrade to Hot Rod. Granted, my grandma got me Rodimus as a Christmas gift in 1987, and it was my first Transformer, so I might be a bit biased. It seems we have all of the modern upgrades to the 86 movie, except for the space winnebago.  

 

I'll still take the classics Hot Rod over the newer TR figure, which I quickly sold off.

As for a proper Rodimus, we're long overdue for one. Ultra Magnus got a good update, so why can't the robowinnebago?

Our next hope is Power of the Primes. With a line of that name surely we will get a proper voyager Rodimus Prime-right??
Honestly I just use the new MP HotRod as Rodimus in my Chugs collection-he's voyager sized. Doesn't have the Winnebago alt mode or the correct face lines but oh well.

 

Definitely my surprise favorite of TR wave 3. Don't listen to anybody who says otherwise. He's second only to triggerhappy.

 

I got TR Hot Rod thinking I was gonna replace Classics Rodimus.
Don't look like I will since TR Hot Rod is garbage.
Classics Rod might be less than a stellar figure but it ain't a floppy mess whose head falls off.
