Transformers Prime was the best show, and completely redeems the franchise, it should have an MP line. Why hasn't a 3p (looking at you Planet X) done this yet??? An MP scale or even leader class scale Megatron is needed. He stole the show IMO. Frank Welker's best Megatron performance ever!

Amen to that, Frank Welker needs an Oscar under his belt for his performance in Transformers Prime

It could. Anything's possible. I don't see it happening anytime soon, though.

That said... I don't think Prime needs a Masterpiece line. G1 needed Masterpiece because G1 had inarticulate bricks and modernized Classics figures representing it before it came about. Beast Wars needed Masterpiece updates because of the inaccurate proportions and headsculpts of early figures. The movies... have Studio Series and have had accurate toys of characters in their other lines... but they made a lot of money and movie toys sell. Also there's more nostalgia, given G1 and Beast Wars are older with adult collectors who can afford both lines, and the blockbuster movies have further reach, and therefore, more potential nostalgia to feast upon than another cartoon remake.

Comparatively, the majority of TF: Prime figures are fairly accurate and stand the test of time. Although I've never handled one, the First Edition figures look like they stepped right off the screen. Prime figures under the majorly overused "Robots in Disguise" tagline were no slouches either, as Ratchet, Wheeljack, Megatron, Starscream, Arcee, and famously the Vehicon also look accurate and of those I've handled, all function perfectly fine as action figures.

I do think the occasional Generations update might work for characters like Knock Out, Smokescreen, the Insecticons, and Airachnid who really need it, and I would LOVE for a Western release of War Breakdown and both flying Vehicons. However, like Animated and Cybertron before it, the majority of past figures are already accurate and well engineered, and any that would need an update would be better off receiving one in the Generations line, as a Generations Knock Out would fit in with the existing Prime figures better than a Masterpiece Knock Out.

Hmm, well I do have a first edition Megatron and Starscream and they both look accurate so I do see your point

Yes, I think it is quite likely that Transformers Prime will get it's own Masterpiece line. However, I think that Hasbro and Takara will wish to finish off the other Masterpiece lines first. And if Hasbro were to have a meeting over what the new masterpiece line would be, I'm sure that they would all agree that BEAST MACHINES is the best, awesomest and most loved Transformers cartoon(aside from Energon). After the Beast machines line, they will make a Tf Energon Masterpiece line before moving onto anything else.

Is it wrong that I unironically want to see MP Vehicon Generals and the Grand Mal with a spaceship mode?

Official masterpiece? Probably not any time soon. I could see a surge in 3p figures based on TFPrime popping up though, some time in the next couple of years maybe.

    Very highly debatable.

Hasbro/Takara will probably wait until the generation who grew up with Prime are in their 30s or 40s.

Definitely. That'll give the Decepticons some variety.

I highly doubt it'll happen, to be completely honest. Maybe a 3rd Party Masterpieces/Deluxe line, but, as much as it saddens me, I don't think we'll ever get an official Masterpiece line.

I've learned to never say never in this fandom. But seems like most of the focus with MPs are G1 and BW. I feel like we might see Encore Reissues of Prime figures before MP versions. But thinking of an MP Prime Ratchet I can't but think...I NEEDED THAT.

Yeah and not to mention that the designs are too complex
