While we are getting Rise of the Dark Spark in 4 days, it's not a true sequel.

So I ask the question, will there or could there ever be a third cybertron game?

A game that doesn't reuse. And one that has some time put into it.

    What do you think?

Hopefully. Maybe when High Moon is done working on COD Mode-Ahem, Advanced Warfare for last gen consoles, we'll get a really sweet TF game from them.

That said, their studio has shrunk immensely since Deadpool flopped, I don't know if they have it in them at this point.

Maybe it's best to let FOC be the last one, and simply assume the story somehow gets them on Earth.

Mostlikly. But not soon. Rise of the dark spark need to come out first. Then we need to wait through the TF4movie games to be finished with. And plus HighMoon studio isn't trying to distance them self. But they do want to show they can do other things.

So once all that happens. And Transformers' popularity is starting to wane, but is still remember but the non-TF-fans. Then we'll finally get it.

So seriously. Put it out of your mind, don't think about it. I'm sure it'll happen....but you know....not soon.

I would not be shocked. All the same, from a plot point of view, I can accept FoC as a good (open) ending.

I would not be opposed to a new game in the same style but on other planets (preferably not Earth), as a prequel, and/or in another continuity. Imagine Last Stand of the Wreckers using this engine/style - I'd buy that.

I think the main thing that might impede a third game would be if they decide to make a tie-in to the upcoming RID cartoon soon. They won't want both out at once, and then there will be the certain fifth movie game.

The games are popular, and Hasbro has acknowledged them with a fairly large number of toys, so I can't see them not continuing it in the future.

I'm certain sales of RotDS is going to determine whether or not a third game in the ____ of Cybertron line will have a chance.

    This ^

It's a shame because they really seemed to have the ball well and truly rolling with their take on TF. Hopefully Matt & the guys at High Moon have something on the back burner.

Hopefully they can use some of their new found CoD fame to help get a third game in somewhere.

Considering Activision was unwilling to spend any money on a game with a huge summer movie to support it, I can't imagine another non-movie game is that likely any time soon.

I really, really, really hope so. In my opinion the ....... of Cybertron games were amazing and had a great story. I hope this series will continue some day.

I hope to. And I hope RoTDS just a non-canonical spin-off. Just cause bayformers and transformers - two different universes. Mix them into canon - just a stupid move.

    It's possible.

For now we have Rise of the Dark Spark, which seems to be made out of deleted levels from the previous games.

Yeah I'm happy we get that game. The only thing I don't like is that Megatron uses his Fall of Cybertron body which he shouldn't have in that timeline.

Enlightening me why it isn't a "true" sequel.

Well for the Cybertron portion of the game, the events take place before FoC.

As for the movieverse chapters, based on the spoilers it would suggest that it also takes place before the events of AoE, there are walkthrough vids online

What about the Spirits Rising and Autobots Supreme games (Link)?

Doesn't seem to fit in the "...... of Cybertron" titles but I really hope we get a continuation of the series. And I do prefer HMS to continue it but with the news regarding the layoffs it doesn't seem positive.

I've wondered for years how the game would work if futures sequels were set on Earth, given how dependent so much of the game is on the class system, and obviously Earth vehicles don't adhere to the established sizing system. Personally I reckon they should have kept the entire series on Cybertron, or in space at least.
