Am very eager to pick up ROTF Prime, but lessons learned from the 1st movie is that they release (better) retool/repaints 2-3 months down the road.

Haven't been very update to the news -- any announcements/expectations that they'll do the same this time around? If so I'll wait ...

Well the original repaints were from the stores demanding more toys. So it all depends but i would expect a repaint at some point, not sure about any retools.

 

Definitely there will be repaints. I don't know about a Premium Prime but there probably will be Desert Attack Optimus Prime or Nightwatch or something in the future

 

I would like Nemesis Prime

 

There BETTER BE a Nightwatch Optimus! That way I can get a red LED and put it in his head and BAM!! Nemesis Prime. Maybe put in another voice thing that says "I am NEMESIS PRIME!!" if I can find and figure out how to do such a thing.

We'll definitely be getting repaints, but it's hard to say what color schemes they'll get. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Premium Prime repaint. They've already said there will be some RotF Premiums, just that there won't be so much emphasis on them this time (aka they won't be big enough to be considered a subline to the main line like last time). There will most likely be a themed repaint of Prime and Megatron. I could see Jetfire getting a themed repaint to go along with a themed Prime repaint (making the combined-mode flow better). Starscream will probably get at least one repaint, and seeing as he has the most repaint potential, it's even harder to try and guess what repaints he'll be getting.

I really hope so!

As I'm at the point in my fan-cycle of doing a "specialty collection" I'm not collecting any movie-toys AS movie-toys, so I won't be buying the new Leader Prime mold in his standard deco.

I passed on v1. Leader Prime as well, but eagerly picked up Night-Watch Prime to be my "Powered Convoy" (Being mostly blue'ish). He's probably being supplanted now that the City-Commander upgrade is floating around, but its a such a lovely toy, I'll find someplace to fit him in!

So ditto, I hope ROTF Leader Prime gets SOME kind of cockamaimy (preferably bizzare-homage) repaint so that I can justify the purchase, the tooling looks GREAT!

I would like to see premiums of just the leaders, and maybe the Fallen only. Leader Prime with silver... *mindblown*, Megatron in silver, and Jetfire with no more white plastic arms.

 

In the panel at Botcon they said the premium line is probably not happening

 

The fact that Hasbro said "probably not" during Botcon should I think be taken with a large pinch of salt.

 

They said there wouldn't be a Premium line, not there wouldn't be Premium repaints:

They also said in one of the boards Q&A things earlier this year that there will be RotF Premium figures. Basically, by the sounds of it, the Premium figures they do make will be more scattered threw out the entire RotF line, instead of being more clumped up into it's own little sub-line like they were towards the end of the first movies toy line.

 

likely. I want to see a repaint of jetfire.

 

I won't bother with Premiums as I will own the earlier releases and don't want to shell out twice. However, Optimus done in black and silver as Nemesis Prime would be instant buy and pure awesomeness. I would be prepared for a Desert Attack/Assault Prime considering the amount of time spent in Egypt.

 

Makes sense. I think what we have now is good enough.

 

The only repaints I'd consider would be a G1-style Jetfire (with a possibly retooled head to make him look more like his original face or helmet) and a Black ROTF Prime Repaint. The Black Prime would be movie Nemesis Prime (would help justify buying the new mold while I still have the TF1 leader, which in istelf is still an excelent figure), but the Jetfire Repaint/Retool could be of Jetfire when he was still with the Decepticons.

Anything else would be a pass for me.

 

I can deal with Prime and Megs in the colors available, but I really hope Jetfire gets a Premium deco.

 

I'm holding out for a premium Optimus and voyager Megs. If they never come to be I can always buy the originals or wait and see what they have in store for us for the 3rd movie. I'm patient that way  

Either way, repainted leaders are bound to happen!
