I am really mad about this. I really wanted Grimlock in TF2. Oh well, I guess Michael Bay has his reasons. :(

Thank God. I think I'm one of the few who thought that the concept of Dinobots would not really work well in the movie.

Exactly what I heard. He stretches out the No... but he does indeed say No.

I would like to see grimlock as with a dragon mode since it is not dino mode, But it is unlikely

This pleases me. I'd much rather they took more time to develop the main characters than spend the entire film trying to explain why there are giant robot dinasaurs walking around.

Plus I think the concept of dinobots would come acroos as silly in a live action film.
Let's face it...Live action Transformers was pushing it, but they managed to barely pull it off. Live action Dinobots? Only children and die hard transfans would accept it.

I'm alright with no dinobots. After the first movie, I'm confident in Bay's decisions.

One question: Is TF2 back on track for a 2009 opening?

He doesn't. I've watched the video over a dozen times and he never gives a direct answer to the question. He clearly says, "Um, there'll be lots of new stuff....new species" and so forth. But for some reason, there are people who are hearing either the words 'Nah', 'no' or 'Tom' at the beginning of his statement. The fact is he says "Um" at the beginning of his answer. Plain and simple.

If we could have Scorponok, we should be able to have Dinobots.

But, I'd sooner not see them then see them done wrong, so if the right idea isn't here yet, then save them for TF3 or 4 or 5 or whenever the time is right.

Or hell, intro Grimlock now and have him become a Dinobot later.

Yea if we were getting Grimlock he'd be voiced by someone like Larry the Cable Guy, he wouldn't have his sword, and instead of the brawler we'd be expecting he'd be like all brains and worse in a fight than the Decepticons from the first movie. Oh and somehow look related to Waspinator because metal bits and butt ugly are all cool in Bay's mind.

Rather enjoy old Grimlock over in Animated where he still get's his same alt mode, weapons, speech problems, and all the other goodies that make him cool.

I saw the first movie, and I remember seeing and recognizing a new Bumblebee, and a new Starscream, and a new Ironhide, and a new Ratchet...

Then again, I wasn't looking for G1 Bumblebee, and G1 Starscream, and G1 Ironhide, and G1 Ratchet.

Ah, that's true. I forgot that G1 was the only Transformers series ever made, and that everything must use G1 as precedence and must emulate it exactly, if not it's garbage.

I thought we had moved beyond this discussion?

As much as I'd like to see the Dinobots done, I think they should leave them out. Giant dinosaurs works great for a cartoon, but not in this movie. Putting them in there would be like if they keep Megs as a handgun or had Soundwave as a tape deck. Some things absolutely need to be changed.

If they want a Grimlock, great, but make him something worthwhile, not a giant dinosaur. That really wouldn't be much of a disguise.

Above all else, I hope we get Transformers with actual personalities, that say more than 4 lines each. I don't care if they use a whole new version and don't take into account any of the previous series, just give them a reason for the audience to give a crap about them, or hate them. More than 20 minutes of robots in a movie about robots would be nice too.

Sorry for delurking just to add to this debate, but:

Is it me or does he say, "Weeell ... there'll be lots of new stuff ... " though he does shake his head slightly as though he's reluctant to say anything at all.

I'll be going back to lurking now. Be seeing you.

He says "No, but you're gonna see a lot of different new stuff." Not "um, but you're gonna see a lot of different new stuff" or "Tom, but you're gonna see a lot of different new stuff". If he didn't say no, then there would be no reason for him to continue the sentence with "but'. That's it.
