Awww! Although there is still a chance that either Grimlock will be in the film without a dinosaur alt mode, he doesn't know what the dinobots are or he's denying everything as part of the misinformation campaign.

Not sure I could. I'm not saying Grimlock HAS to be a dino without exception, but if they didn't go that route, I'd rather they just go with another character instead.

Ummm. I watched the video, and he didn't say no outright. In fact, he mentioned that there would be different species. (whatever that means)

No Dinobots is okay with me.

Movieverse has grown on me, and I feel like dinosaur alt-modes would be pushing the limit of plausibility--yes, even for a movie about alien transforming robots fighting over a life-giving cube.

I could understand them not being Dinosaurs, but maybe some other transforming animal type.

Mike Bay, please, if you ahve even an ounce of decency, please, no Dnobots!

Dinobots are great, but I just can't picture them in a real-world setting like the others. Plus there's the whole limit of reality of just how they got there dino forms, etc.... Unless you make 'em a rag-tag group of some form of heavy machinery/vehicle, please, no animal-bots.

Nice that he at least said something.

He didn't say no Dinobot's. In fact, he avoided answering the question directly all together. Your thread title is misleading.

Uhh, I don't think a person needs to say "No, there will be no (Insert Questioned Subject)" in order to mean "No", right?

He clearly said "No, but you're gonna see a lot of different new stuff."

So yes, he did say no.

But to his thing about fake news campaign, it throws us off everytime. We'll just have to wait, and him saying new SPECIES is actually alot to discuss on, but then again that can also be his 'false news' (but I doubt that this last statement is one of them).

No, he did not use the word no. His quote is, "Tom, you're going to see a lot of new stuff. It's just the tip of the iceberg what you saw in the last movie in terms of characters... differnet type of species I guess."

After watching that 10 times now, I'm also guessing from his statement that he ment that the TF's were a different type of species.

I think that's the first time I've actually felt bad for Bay - having to answer the same inane questions over & over ad nauseum from awkward geek boy interviewers must be the low points of his days.

I do agree, he definitely says "no" in response to the Dinobots question. Which is fine with me since I can't imagine them pulling that one off in a believable way.

And when he said "new species", I'm pretty sure he just meant in relation to the what the movies are about and the TF themselves since that's exactly what they are. I doubt he'll be bringing in more aliens (ie: Quintessons) or anything like that.

Where are you hearing a definite no in that interview? He was being vague, as in he doesn't want to say yes or no to anything yet.

I hope he stickls to this... NO ANIMALS or DINOSAURS

I do can see that they use Grimlock for something big like a big powerd armor vechiel of some sort..something that just screams POWWA but not as a big metallic T-Rex

Yeah...the title should definetly be changed, he didn't out right say no to the Dinobots, but he was extremely vague about it. I actually like his little "differen't species" comment. Looks like we could see several different types of "Cybertronians" in the sequel, instead of just one type of being from that one planet.

Word for word quote of that mini segment:

    Interviewer:
"So we're gonna see Dinobots this time?"

    Michael Bay:
"Nah but you're gonna see a lot of different, new stuff..."

I don't really understand how anyone isn't hearing that since it's said very clearly. "Nah" usually means "no", so that's how I'll take it. He pretty much immediately shoots down the Dinobot thing but quickly segues into a positive spin by talking about the first movie just being the tip of the iceberg.

I don't actually care one way or another. I'm just saying that he does in fact say "nah" or "no" there. Maybe he's being coy, maybe he didn't mean to answer the question like that... doesn't matter - he still says it nonetheless.

I don't think Dinobots have a place in the '07 Movie style. Scorponok is one thing, but adding dinosaurs would, in my opinion, be pushing the envelope. However, some fans will never be happy until they see Grimlock on the big screen, but whatever. I'm sure whatever Bay and crew has in store for us in TF2 will be awesome.
