This is my first year going and I am disappointed at the only exclusive announced (price is way too much for what they are selling). Usually there are more. Since Hasbro hasn't made a press release of all exclusives there is still hope.
I'm sure there will be. It seems that in the past it's 2 and maybe an early american MP release. Botcon is this weekend so I'm sore we'll see the cheaper exclusive there.
The other exclusive is Armada Unicron with a pink wig and a sound chip that plays Hot for Teacher and Dr Feelgood. He comes with two Rung minicons for drum sticks.
I an in agreement with you on this as I for one am disappointed as well. I was strongly hoping for a recolored Metroplex into Metro Titan/Necro-Titan and instead we got a box set that was created by stealing the Fusion earrings from DBZ and then putting one on the band "Poison" and the 2nd one on the Transformers brand...and BAM. If that at all is a good thing, then I'll leave that to you all to make that what you will. I'm hoping as well that Hasbro releases a second exclusive this year NOT in relation to the music themed aforementioned box set. We have been seeing a trend were they release a current wave figure with some premium packaging and paint apps. May we might see a Generations Leader class Jetfire with red painted thrusters, no chrome, and a clear blue plastic package that is designed to look like he's trapped in ice??? Hopefully so...
It's not impossible, but bear in mind last year also had just one exclusive, Metroplex. If nothing else is revealed at BotCon this weekend, it's almost certainly just the Knights of Unicron set.
I thought they had Metroplex, Shockwave's lab, the Titans package of small actionmaster-ish figures, and they counted MP Soundwave as an exclusive (since that was the "1st" place you could buy it at the entertainmentearth booth).
I dunno, I'd look on the bright side and at least you don't have to wake up super early and waste a couple of hours worrying about getting an exclusive you might not even get. You get to enjoy more of the SDCC. But not sure what your priorities are. Just trying to help.
Yes, even not counting the GI Joe crossover set, there were three Transformer exclusives last year (Metroplex, Shockwave's Lab, those Titan things), plus the "debut" of MP Soundwave and Acid Storm via the Entertainment Earth booth, though Hasbro has no control whether those will be available at the EE booth or not. I don't mind the chrome, but I do like the packaging idea for Jetfire.
You mean 80's hair-band Transformers don't do it for you? I was wondering this myself as well. Often we get multiple TF exclusives at SDCC. My thought is that we *could* see a reveal at Botcon. However, if we don't get any more news out of Botcon, then the Hair-band set will be it for SDCC TF exclusives. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as I would not miss waiting in the crazy Hasbro line. I was hoping for G1 Dinobot reissues, but that seems highly unlikely at this point.
Somehow, that Rusty Evasion Mode Optimus Prime sounds like it could be a SDCC exclusive. But I hope not, because then it would be even harder to find.
