Thankfully, he will not. I didn't mind him much before, but now I think his story is over.

A female protagonist would be harder for me to relate to. Great for all the female viewers, though.

 

Allegedly no more difficult than it would be for a woman to relate to Sam. If they want to change up the formula a little bit, this is a reasonably cost effective way to do it.

 

What do you think she'll talk about through the whole movie that'll make her unrelatable to you?

 

If Sam was to have a cameo moment then I want it to be where the main characters are talking in the foreground and suddenly in the distant rear of shot Sam goes running across like a spaz and yelling 'Nononononono!'. He exits the side of the screen and nobody even acknowledges him and they just keep on talking like nothing happened and that's the last we ever see and hear of Sam and we're left to wonder why he was running and what his ultimate fate was.

Or... Bay plays 'Where's Waldo/Wally' and just hides Shia in as many shots as possible throughout the entire movie and we make it a drinking game to spot him.

I'd love a beautiful young female as the star of TF4,TF5,TF6 & beyond. Maybe they can go get a really curvy women from brazil or colombia.

Oh god, I hope not. Sam's character is played out. I'd much rather see someone else as a human lead.

 

Shia won't be back as Bay wants a new focus and a new start of this one. Even a cameo would jeopardize what he is trying to achieve and make the movie seem like a sequel who couldn't get the main star to agree to be in a bigger role.

Also, the main protagonist won't be a woman because a) Bay knows that the target demographic is mostly male and will relate to a male character more and b) Bay does not know how to include a female character that isn't a vapid bimbo.

 

He better not. I liked him in the first movie. But he was kind of annoying in ROTF. Then in DOTM he became irritating because he was a whiny little bitch.

 

Bay lied about retiring from the series so whos to say shia cant do the same about leaving and come back to tf4?

It's not a lie if he meant it at the time. As I think the entire point of this thread is trying to say, people can change their minds. Bay wanted to do Pain and Gain after TF3, so he went to do that and later agreed to do TF4 because he got handed a massive check from Hasbro/Paramount.

However, on topic, Shia probably isn't changing his mind. I mean, he described working on the films as essentially getting raped in the ass repeatedly. That doesn't sound like something he'd up and decide to do again even with a large paycheck.

 

I think it's time to move on. Transformers have bad plenty of other human sidekicks.
Personally I'm hoping for Chak and Una.

They could always just have someone say he was mean. It worked for completely explaining away Mikaela's absence in DotM.  

 

Not really. I mean, according to the official announcement, the cast is supposed to be made up of completely new Autobots, which gives the idea that Sam has nothing to do with the plot of the next film. If it's done like the Bourne Legacy, which seems to take place during the events of the original trilogy but not before the end of Ultimatum, then the new TF film could be taking place inbetween ROTF and DOTM during the period Sam is at college.

That would also allow for all those main Decepticons (Megsy, Screamer, SW, etc.) people want back to return without having to work around the fact they're all dead after DOTM.
