At this time Peter Cullen has voiced Optimus Prime for 133 episodes over the course of G1, Prime, and Rescue Bots. While Gary Chalk has a total of 153 episode as Optimus Prime from Armada, Energon, and Cybertron. So actually Gary Chalk has voiced Optimus Prime more episode then Peter Cullen. Although Peter Cullen has voiced Optimus Prime in four about to be five movies and several video games. So the question is will Peter Cullen get another 20+ episode in as Optimus Prime? I am unsure it all depends of how much of a role he will play in the show. Also he has at least one more episode in Rescue Bots coming.

Also not counting G1 season 5, G2, and Beast Wars/Machines.

It doesn't matter to me. Cullen IS Optimus Prime. Chalk IS Optimus Primal. That's what I hear.

How does one not count Beast Wars/Machines? Just because it's Primal?

Gary Chalk voiced two seperate characters in a sense. Optimus Primal is NOT Optimus Prime, even though they are related. A this point, Peter Cullen doesn't seem to be retiring anytime soon and Hasbro realizes that he's iconic at this point. I think he will take the crown with the new cartoon, even if he's a ghost.

Both of these. No matter what, Cullen will always be Optimus Prime and he'll likely end up with more episodes.

    Bit different for me.

David Kaye is Optimus Prime to me. The Animated portrayal of seeing the character grow, struggle, and make mistakes was just nice to see. The voice work from David added to the character. I take that a million times over the usual portrayal.

So I probably committed the greatest Transformers fandom offense ever, but I don't care.

Probably, since Optimus is at least going to be a ghost or something in the next series.

Cullen is Prime. I like Chalk, and enjoyed the nod to Cullen's Prime in his work as Optimus Primal, but to use the Primal voice for Prime in the Armada-verse didn't seem to fit. I'm not sure how much of it was really Chalk's fault considering the dialogue for most Japan-to-American dubs leave something to be desired.

David Kaye's Optimus Prime was pretty good and suited the character portrayed in Animated. I'd dare say if they ever wanted to do a prequel story with Orion Pax, to bring back Kaye.
