I don't think so, because it negates the emotional journey of Bumblebee. Back when BB was a prequel (or the original cut), it was clear that Bumblebee kept the radio-talk thing because it reminded him of the human who helped him.

The original cut also both provided an in-universe reason as to why he took to Mikaela so quickly and (another) retroactive reason as to why Mikalea should have been the main character and not Sam - she reminded him of Charlie.

I quite like the idea of Bumblebee keeping the radio-talk voice because it reminds him of the human who helped him - that's a very touching idea, in my view. It's like the reason why I'm glad they're keeping the Camaro form - him changing from the VW bug in the end always feels like a maturation to me. It's like Bumblebee's saying "I've grown up now - I can handle myself if I have to."

Having him go back to being a VW bug and talking feels like it's negating the whole emotional journey of Bumblebee for a pointless bit of G1 fanservice.

 

The radio-talk device is dumb and it's time to put it in the trash where it belongs.

I think the faceplate has become a bit too iconic as "movie" Bumblebee, that he'll keep the plate even if he regains his speech. And if we want to talk continuity (which is always loose between the films to be fair) Bumblebee has always had a faceplate, even when he could talk in Bumblebee and TLK.

We may get a retractable faceplate like Optimus, I suppose.

 

I liked it in the beginning, I think it'd be a good quirk for someone other than Bumblebee.

At this point in the movies though I think it's long overstayed it's welcome, like, majorly.

It also feels like it's erasing this Bumblebee - whose whole schtick is that he's mute and talks through the radio - and replacing him with G1 Bumblebee. I think we're missing a critical point here. All Bees must be mute to atone for the sins of Transformer's Animated Bee talking TOO much.

I enjoyed hearing him speak in BB, even if it was very briefly. We've had so many movies and shows recently where he's a mute/radio-talker, so let's hope he does talk this time.

 

I have a feeling they wont give him a voice unless last minute ratchet or someone else fixes his voice at the end of the film

I liked Bumblebee talking through the radio in TWO movies - Transformers 07 and Bumblebee, and that's because in BOTH those movies him not speaking actually MEANT something, and it was part of his character arc. In the other movies it was just because it was a cute gimmick. For gods sake let the poor bastard talk again, unless you're gonna do something clever or unique or tied into the story, don't bother doing it.

 

You guys need to get over the whole him not speaking thing like it's been 14 years of him being mute get over it
