I personally think the mute/radio gag is overdone and I just want Bee to speak again. But remember that old leak way back when about their being art with Bee with an all new face design? Think they went through with the design.... seeing that they only showed his new alt mode in the live event?

I doubt there'll be any significant change in 'Bee's face or manner of speech from where they were at the end of his movie. Don't get me wrong, it'd be nice if they finally decided to let it go, but given this franchise's habit of beating the absolute sh** out of its dead horses, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

As it is, though, I already consider his face design in BB an improvement over the previous films, and I wouldn't mind the radio-speak all that much if they kept it as it was at the end of BB where he's piecing together actual sentences (regardless of however illogical it may be) instead of relying on random soundbites because awwww ain't that cuuuute?.

I'd prefer if Bee got his voice back with his current head, but I very much doubt he won't still be mute despite how annoying it has become.

No way he would get a new head tho (which I'm all for).

 

It's honestly one of the most annoying aspects they added to the character. Unfortunately I don't see it leaving

 

If that page of the script that was shown is genuine, then it's confirmed that they're not changing him.

 

My guess is NO. But I'm hoping for a scene where Ratchet (IF he's in the film ) fixes his voice-box. But that would contradict the "prequel" side Lorenzo is trying to force on us.

Bay took his face and his voice.

We already know he's still using radio voice from the leaked script. My hope is that Prime sends him on a mission to nowhere so I don't have to be constantly reminded that he exists.

I want him to talk like in Bumblebee at the start of the film. And before the fight with that Seeker.

 

If he does speak, they should get Dylan O'Brien to play him again. He's probably my favorite Bumblebee VA so far.

 

I don't think they'll give him a voice...it feels like they at least want to maintain some continuity with the '07 film. Or maybe they just want the events of the 2018 film to have weight. I would personally enjoy it if they fixed his voice box and gave him the voice he had at the beginning of Bumblebee, but I actually hope they don't give him a new face...the 2018 one is already iconic, and needs no fixing. I also think that leak about seeing art of Bumblebee with a mouth was one of the fake leaks.

 

I hope not. He looks cute with the robot face and radio shtick. He gets creepy if you try to human it up.

 

The thread title and poll are asking two different questions.

His face definitely won't change, because it's his face. Even before he lost his voice that's what he looked like. We also know he won't talk from the script leak. I don't think Hasbro will ever let him speak again in a mainstream film, their obsession with brand synergy won't let him.

 

Do I want it to change? Yes.

Do I think it will change? Unfortunately not. Since they still seem to be trying to tip toe around the whole reboot idea, it would make it a lot less ambiguous if they were to straight up give him a new voice and face. Which is a shame since the proverbial “dead horse” that is the Bay-style Bumblebee is just a red stain on the ground at this point.

 

Someone found a page of a script that was left behind which had Optimus Prime talking to Bumblebee while they’re in vehicle mode (yay!) and Bumblebee responds with a clip from a song (boo).

 

I’m not sure if he will get a new face design.

However, I definitely wouldn’t be surprised to see him speak. I think we might be starting to move on from the radio voice now.

 

With the studio still wanting it vague on where it's place in universe, I'd say no.
