I just bought 10 of the grey sets. Now for the scary waiting.
The hinges alone will add so many more crazy display options.
And right on time time too. Finally purchasing myself a couple detolf Shelves. :)

Hey @sunshinefaye, Can you please tell me if The grey metallic Plastic will end up suffering GPS in the long term? I am always concerned whenever I see Metallic Plastic with swirl patterns in it. means there could be potential for Gold Plastic syndrome.

    For those unfamiliar with GPS:

These have also been up at TF-Direct and ShowZ Store for a while but they may have been mislabeled or incompletely labeled.

And, it’s a tough call for me between these, the Zeta Toys boards, or just getting KO kits of the Bandai Chain Bases.

I also hope they'll make more accessories for this set. It'll be kinda boring if all you can make are crane arms. I also want some Guns, Railings, Step Ladders lings like that. and yeah more modular components would be cool too. Things like opening Bay Doors. pretty much like alot of what these Chain Bases come with. but that can be sold as a separate option.

Saw these yesterday on BBTS, I’d be lying if i said I wasn’t tempted to pick up 5 or so of the grey sets to have some Cybertron scenery for my displays.

I've got two sets of orange and purple in my pile o' loot that's on the way from BBTS. If I like them I'll probably get some gray ones as well. I'm no reviewer but I'll try to post some pics and some "thoughts" when they show up.

The funny thing is that, for the retailers I've checked, the originals work out marginally cheaper per square than these copies.
However, these ones have connections that are less likely to leave gaps, so might be better (depending on your preference).
I have a stack of zeta bases I haven't played with yet, else I'd be in for a bunch of these. Still might, down the track.

Can anyone tell me the size of the holes in the deck? Are those 5mm?

Just got two sets, because why not. I didn't have any kind of display background to speak of.

Each panel has two faces, a "plain" face and a "holed" face. there are 3 5mm connections and 3 slightly smaller sizes which... Might be 4mm? Not sure, I haven't measured them yet. The crane arms are also 5mm, so if you feel like sticking them on other transformers, have at it I guess?

They look good, I'm happy with my purchase. Now I just need to find some accessories that would work on this. Computer displays, wall readouts, anything honestly.

I read that these may be rebranding/KOs of another set? What set, and did that set have accessories?

It’s a KO of Dr. Wu’s “Home” kit, which includes the same parts, just less of them.

I got three sets of the gray ones from BBTS over the weekend. At $24 per 9 panels they're a pretty good deal, but they aren't perfect. The gray is a very dark gunmetal, and the bar pieces that connect the panels are weaker than Trump's willpower around adult entertainers that resemble his daughter.

Thankfully I only got these for taking product photos, so I didn't mind too much having to duct tape them together along of the back of the 9*9*9 half-cube I arranged them in. I also spent the afternoon brightening them up with the airbrush, so they look much better now.

Either way, they're a much more economical solution than the Dr. Wu panels they're a knock off of, and they're a lot less gappy than those too.

So they don't really hold themselves together well enough to hold up figures if formed as cubes?

A six panel cube would probably be fine holding up to a voyager class figure. It's a very loose connection that I don't think will support much weight.

Do you know roughly how many squares are equal to one ToyWorld base? Or can you give me the dimensions of one square?

    One panel is 4 & 5/16" x 4 & 5/16".

    Thanks!

The TW bases are definitely overpriced, but I've already got six dark ones from buying their Coneheads (seven if I take the yellow one from their Seaspray and paint them to match). Might be cheaper to pick up a few more TW bases than to start over with these.
