Oh, okay, thanks! Give me less crap to undo every day. I usually spend most of the morning removing "Optimus Prime is voiced by Chuck Norris" and "Grindor is Blackout's cousin" posts from Wikipedia.

Some guy keeps reverting my mention that G1 Broadside turns into a Nimitz class aircraft carrier, but no one seems to care when I mention that ROTF Sonar and Depth Charage are Visby Class corvettes.

I think it's because these are live action movies, and as such aren't bound by Comics/Books/Cartoons, and the production team is allowed to use real licensed vehicles as the alternate forms..

Probably because the Wikipedia is troublesome when it comes to Transformers and Transformers-related articles.

The keepers of the F-15 article have removed it again, stating we need a consensus. If you want you voice heard you can go here:

Talk:F-15 Eagle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Write a polite suggestion as to whether to have a Transformers/Starscream/Seeker mention in the F-15 article or not.

    Thanks!

Nice find! I suspect there will be complaints about it's significance (to determine that they'll just google it and check out it's alectia rank, sadly. That's the level of ineptitude you're looking at) but this is as close as you will get to full-on proof I think.

But in reality, if the military hardware cabal want to expunge any mention of children's toys from the f15 page, they will. We're talking about guys who check these pages every single day - if they want it deleted it'll get deleted. Wikipedia isn't a demoracy, it's literary anarchy.

Again, I urge anyone here to add a vote in it's favor to the talk page.

I admire your devotion to wanting this page updated. However, I think you might be stressing a little much over Wikipedia. I think it's pretty obvious by the responses on this thread that it really doesn't matter too much for the rest of us.

It's not any kind of factual site and is, for lack of a better word, a joke. I wish you the best of luck in getting this page updated, but you need to just get over it if it's not. It's not that big a deal.

    Wow.

This whole ordeal boggles the mind.

But not in the good "inspirational" way.

More like the creepy "obsessive fanboy" way.

Oh well, this is a Transformers message board. Go figure.

The OP is getting very worked up over a very minor piece of trivia. Yes, I understand that to a Transformers fan that it's the most important part of the article, but it's staggeringly irrelevant to 99.99999% of people who go to the F-15 article.

    Actually, it's 99.9999999% - I read that on Wikipedia.

Your opinion is not notable per WP: You're a big smelly poopy head. Therefore I will be deleting your comment and setting fire to your house.

F-22 I understand, as there licensing agreements and film stock of the actual product.
The F-14 I don't, as the jets in question were abstractions heavily influenced by the f-14 design. Likewise the seeker jets are abstract representations derivative of f-15 also.

Well, I've tried to maintain a peaceful intelligent talk on Wikipedia about this subject, despite all attempts by other authors to turn this into a shouting match. I've provided sources from major newspaper articles about the F-15's use in Transformers, provided text from the original comic authors, toy designs that clearly state Starscream turns into an F-15, and just about everything else I could think of. I know it's just an encyclopedia written on an etch-a-sketch carried by monkeys, but I did my part to try to improve it a bit. Anyone who can chime in politely on the talk page about it would be appreciated.

This. Wikipedia can be edited by people off the street. So whats to say the information you take to be right could be wrong.
    Don't read Wikipedia.

In the case of the cartoons and comics, the creators don't have permission to use the actual likeness of the vehicle that they want to portray, so they may draw a character as a specific vehicle, but it doesn't look like the real thing.

Whereas with the live action movies, you have real life vehicles in which to use and don't have to worry about Licensing issues..
