IGN: Demo Play for New Super Mario Bros. Wii

I....dunno how to take this. It's like Nintendo is giving you a cheat code with the game.

 

seems pretty silly. i know i'll never use it, but i can see my wife or my kid doing it. dirty rotten cheaters.

 

Yeah, there's already games that we don't have to play. They're called movies.

 

Did we all forget about Warp Pipes? Nintendo games have always had some level of making the game easier...

 

Yeah, only the game didn't play itself.

Last I checked the NES didn't take control of the character and lead you to the warp pipe.

 

It's an optional mechanic, it's not like you are forced to use it. Plus, todays gamer that is hand held by this system may one day go on to never have to use it again. It's not a negative feature, it just makes it a lot more accessible to the casual gamer. It's not really going to ruin your experience, just because it's there.

 

That's a little too casual, don't you think?

 

Oh come on, what's the difference between this and doing either A) Asking a friend for help or B) Going to Gamefaqs to get a walkthrough. You don't have to let the computer play the WHOLE game for you.

 

Your still PLAYING THE GAME. Your not sitting back and watching the system play for you.

 

That's ******ed. We're evolving into a fat, lazy, selfish race.

Next computers will be feeding us and manufacturing babies so it doesn't hurt as bad.  

 

Game still looks GREAT and i'll probably compleatly ignore this feature.

it's not like it's going to take over without your input, you'll probably be able to turn it off and on when you want. don't like it? don't use it. you guys are making it sound worse than it actually is

 

Does it actually matter? Do we care this optional feature is in the game?

If a person who purchases this product wishes to use the feature, more power to them. It's their money. I have no plan to use the feature myself, but I do not consider it a bad idea to put the feature in the game.

 

Giving people more options is never a bad idea in my opinion. Even if the options seem ridiculous.

 

well, they already have at least one prototype food printer.
