I think its being read into WAY too much. What hes trying to say is he wants the next product to surprise people and not speak of it in advance.

What would people have said 2-3 years ago if they announced the 3DS coming in 3-4 years. It would be a joke to people, now the name let slip earlier this year but still aint like its years out.

Give it time and don't read too much into this.

I will say the Wii has a good burst of energy when you first get one but the enthusiasm for it dies way too quickly for too many people I know.

I own less games for my Wii then the other consoles, but I would not want to be without any of those games, so it is worth it. I don't think anyone knows any real info on Wii 2 yet. (at least nobody allowed to talk about it)

Well, whether the next Nintendo home console comes out in 3 years or not, I can't wait to see what it is. I also can't wait for the inevitable Super Smash Bros. game for it (which had better have Mega Man :mad ).

Good to know they're working on it at least. I do like the long console generation though. It means lots of games for the system, less hardware to buy, and developers can push the system to its limits and try new things.

I just hoping that it doesn't replace the Wii all that much cause I don't have that many games for my Wii as I do my PS3. I love my Wii and have alot of fun when I DO play games on it but I also love my PS3 a bit more. I will probly get 1 of them down the road just like I did with this Wii. I can't see that much into the future about this other then its just a bit of a rumor till we see a working console.

Misleading thread title for the fucking LOSE. Retitling.

ALSO; I have deleted every off topic post in here. If you don't play your Wii anymore, guess what? NOBODY CARES. This is not a thread to post that interesting information in, if you're going to post, post something relevant to the topic at hand.

I would actually say this was quite a slip-up on Iwata's part. Judging from his language (both in this question and throughout the Q&A), he's very confident and self-assured in what he says. I honestly do think that 2012 we will see Wii 2/Wii HD whatever you want to call it, at E3, with a release in 2013.

If anything I want to see them update the graphics. While the Wii is capable of good graphics (SSBB, Super Mario Galaxy, basically every Nintendo-made game) 3rd parties just don't utilize it.

Also, so saying I don't play my Wii in this thread is concidered trolling and is deleted, yet posters can piss and moan about how much the TF movies suck in threads that have nothing to do with it........interesting.

Do I moderate the entire board? No.

Even then I wouldn't have the time. As I've stated several times over G&T is, in my own opinion, one of the sacred cows of the board where decent and vibrant discussion can and does happen and I fully intend to keep it that way for as long as possible. This thread is and was about future iterations of Nintendo hardware, not how the current system is not being used in households X, Y and Z.

If y'all want further clarification or discussion on the matter please PM me as technically the quoted part of your post is breaking rule 6 of the board blah blah yadda yadda.

Eh, with it still being 2 years out, and likely 18 months before we see anything, not sure that there's much to discuss.

Being a Wii owner, and always interested in the Nintendo Consoles, I'd have to wait and see what they plan on putting on this.

Do you use one of these?

On topic, I'd take a Wii HD with decent internal storage and an online service worth a damn. Not bothered about waggle or not. I think Nintendo are far too preoccupied in being different right now, there's nothing wrong with iteration as they well know from Software sales. That can just as easily apply that to hardware.

You know, the 3DS might end up being a flop, but the software lineup looks to be the best launch lineup in the history of video game history.
If the Wii’s successor had that kind of line up when it is released it would be hard to avoid a purchase.

I realize that I am projecting off a projection here. LOL

In other news, I dusted my Wii this weekend, and my PS3, and my Xbox, and my TV, and my Sherwood.
All of that shit gets crazy dusty whether you use it or not.

    Did you Shamwow?

And I don't believe the 3DS could ever concievably flop so long as they don't pull a Sony and price it sensibly.

Agreed. The line-up has way, way too many a-list, hardcore game titles as well as fun-ish looking casual titles to be an instant flop.
