Why would they only give lockdown a deluxe? (possible aoe spoilers)

I am incredibly excited for the deluxe aoe lockdown figure that is coming soon, especially after seeing aoe and how badass lockdown is, but what I wonder is why did they only give him a deluxe class toy? (In the generations line)

In all other past movies the main villian (which lockdown arguably is in the movie, along-side galvatron kindof near the end) always got at least a voyager toy which helped give us a more "premium" toy of them which also scaled better with Optimus.

I'm just wondering why you guys think only a deluxe version of lockdown was made, or if in the future we may get something bigger.

Lockdown was great. Best villain in the series and I rank him above Sentinel Prime even. I hope he gets some better treatments.

A deluxe toy gives him a vehicle more in scale with the other characters. That's the reasoning I take away.

Well, the Lamborghini will only scale well as a deluxe. They could make a voyager or a leader but the alt-mode would be silly huge.

They will make a bigger version, but as he's a car the default scale for cars in all TF lines is a deluxe.....so that's what you get.

I have a feeling he will sneak into more merchandise along the way, be it Hasbro action figures or not.

His character obviously left a strong impact as a formidable force to many.

How tall was he in robot mode compared to Optimus Prime? Taller, shorter, or about the same?

It's too bad they weren't able to pull a magic transformation like with the ROTF and Animated Lockdown, where a normal deluxe car became a super-tall robot. Lockdown is tall and slender in bot form, so it might have worked. Would have been all the Lockdown we'd need.

Though I suppose with less plastic and fewer parts to work with nowadays, it wouldn't have been possible.

In most shots he looked about the same height...but Prime appeared to have his Western Star mode compact significantly more than his previous form, since the deluxe carbots were around 2/3rds his height, instead of half, and he seemed about the same size as Hound. In other words, either everybody's gotta get bigger to match Leader Prime for the toyline, or they just need to make a Voyager Prime and Voyager Lockdown, and that'll about fix the scale issues.

    ...Dinobots not withstanding, of course.

... why not he transform into a gaint cannon?

But yeah, I second that he should get more treatment. They did a VERY good job with him. Honestly would have rather him be the main villian in the movie.

I think the reason he doesn't pull an Animated or HFTD is because of how drastically different the robot is compared to the car. Like with animated the legs were the good of the car, while in the movie it's his chest. Unless they had made the back of the car extend like crazy, this Lockdown was going to be small.

Thanks! I feel much better about my Flip and Change Lockdown purchase now. His articulation is terrible and his alt mode makes for a gigantic car, but the sculpt of the robot mode is pretty nice and he can look Leader Optimus in the eye.

It's a shame we won't see at least a voyager scale Lockdown.

I loved Drift/Crosshair's comment about the dinobots turning into giant cars.

    I actually want one now

Human Alliance figures tend to be the most movie accurate figures(a lot of the time) and they come with so many awesome features like removable battle masks etc. Lockdown NEEDS a HA figure with Attinger as his human. He could have his green mask and everything.

He's a car, and to misquote Joshua, "We don't need you anymore... Human Alliance. "
