What? If you're asking why Ratchet went with Prime to the moon, it's because he's a medic and there may be some still barely alive Autobots there, including Sentinel.
Because Ratchet is the medic and their mission was to retrieve Sentinel's body so they needed the medic to check the body and stuff.
Same. I also figured, Revenge of the Fallen is mostly Ironhide's mission with Optimus and Dark of the Moon is mostly Ratchet's mission with Optimus. So Ratchet and Ironhide are pretty much equal.
I would have liked if all three of them went to the moon. They could have had a shot of Ratchet and Optimus having difficulty opening the door. Where Ironhide could then just walk up and kick the door open.
Awesome. A great opportunity to showcase the relations between them. When even the mighty Optimus struggles to open a jarred door, he simply nods to Ironhide. Ironhide strolls up and pauses. And then f**king knocks the door off its hinges. LIKE A BOSS. A great little moment for them. I do wish that Ironhide joined them on the mission though. Not accounting for the cost of the visual effects or VA schedules or anything, you can literally copy and paste Ironhide into almost every shot of that scene that features Prime and Ratchet and it would work. He'd be behind Ratchet when the exit the Xanthium. Next to Prime when they stroll up. And walking behind Ratchet when Ratchet catches the pillar as it floats towards him. Three shots and *BAM!* he's in the scene. Not doing anything, but hey, at least he'd be there.
I think, it was because Rachet was an autobot medic, so he was needed for repairing/reassembling the dead autobots' faces, just in case Optimus ripped their faces off.
Because Ironhide's not a medic and couldn't tell if something was dead unless it was in a billion pieces and on fire. That was so, so painfully forced. And even within it's own realm of nonsensical insanity that statement makes no sense. But what does one expect from such a tired and worn-out "joke."
Ratchet needs to be with Optimus at all times to keep him mentally stable. He is allowed off his medication to fight Decepticons, resulting in rage screams, face rippings, and disembowelments. But yeah, it made sense logically. (I think mine was more forced.)
Wasn't there a moment in G1 where Brawn politely asks to "allow me to get the door!" *walks through and smashes the door open*? I'd love Ironhide just walking through the door Optimus and Ratchet can't open.
