Exactly my feelings on the current franchise with exception to the Dinobots. To me the Dinobots looked fantastic but didn't do much.
The way I see it, you need to go in with an open mind, otherwise you'll get highly dissappointed from either... A. Hyping it up to unrealistic expectations and get disappointed when it doesn't reach said expectations. or B. Having such a strong negative view going in that you ended up going in hating and get blinded by that hate. The latter option is what happened to me when I first watched AOE. It wasn't till I watched it for a second time with a open mind that I realized how the movie showed that Bay was actually improving.
^^Yeah the first part I learned from ROTF and since then my views on DOTM and AOE turned out better as a result. The second part I also agree on since having a negative view on something can only take you so far before having another or having a first look at it. Same goes for the other way around.
It means they can't do a good transformers film. They've squandered this franchise for far too long. I'm tired of the transformers only being busy eye candy. They deserve better.
See, that's bothersome, can't really relate with most of the titular characters, and then to be killed off like no one cares. Anyone can make mindless action that serves no purpose right.
you know...was it the best idea to switch writers after tf4? i mean, i just hope they continue with the established themes of the previous films..it would suck if all of a sudden the mood changes to a happy-go-lucky transformers film...i, for one, appreciate how dark the films have gotten...after having rewatched dotm recently; chicago got absolutely devastated..hundreds of thousands..possibly millions were killed in that battle.
ya know..i was thinking....tf5 is going to be very different from tf2-4...i dont think we realize how much of a difference fresh writers will represent...just look at the difference between tf1 & tf2-4...it's gonna feel different..not sure how i feel about that..i've kinda grown accustomed to the movies as they are. i kinda like how dark the movies have gotten..& i like 'dark optimus' to be honest. i just hope the change is for the better hoping it doesnt get kiddied up all a sudden
I just hope they keep giving us an Optimus that emotes. I don't want them to revert back to a TFP-esque, one-liner-machine Optimus because that's boring in comparison, lol.
I'm personally in favor of the films becoming more childish. These movies have gotten too serious for the braindead popcorn flicks they are. Besides, a younger audience will help toy sales, then we could maybe go back to movie toys that don't suck (probably not, but I can dream).
Yeah, like others, I don't believe for a second that it's going to be "different" at all. As long as Bay is still behind the camera and those designs are still what they're sticking with, it's just going to be more of the same. That, and the existing 4 movies have already proved tenfold that nothing ever changes.
I do not think it will be any different visually to what we have had previously. That's not a bad thing as Bay has the usual bayhem for the films and set pieces are really explosive on the eye. Hopefully it might differ writing wise and be a more coherent movie from start to finish. (Pray emojis) I may be totally wrong and nothing really has changed and it's just the same 2hr + loud noises and bay ka boom boom.
