I agree. He didn't seem aggressive in the battlefield, in fact, he didn't even have intentions to fight. But isn't killing a person who's not a soldier against war rules? That happens with medics too. They can't kill a medic if they're curing another soldier. I wonder if Cybertronian war rules are the same as human war rules.

In war, rules often go right out the window. I am aware of more than a few real-life instances over the ages where medics have been deliberately targeted. The logic is that killing medics will condemn their patients to death, as well. Multiple birds with one stone.

 

And if you wipe out the inventor, how are the Autobots gonna get new weapons?

The reason Q went into battle is the same as Ratchet's. There are 9 Autobots excluding Wheelie and Brains against over 200 Decepticons.

 

This thread should be re titled "Why was Que put into battle, he was an innocent bystander," cause that's all he ever was in the movie.
