i found out the reason he's in space.. has no alt mode he's like teletran 1
if anyone noticed when the decepticon pod came near him he gave them thier alt mode, like teletran 1 did in the cartoon, he does come to earth
during a battle scene not sure which one

soundwave is like teletran 1 remember in G1 when teletran went looking for altmodes
for the autobots and decepticons, that's what soundwave is doing

 

But that doesn't mean he doesn't have an alt mode

 

Soundwave is there to locate the cube shard and locate Megatrons body.

 

And to disappoint Soundwave and Welker fans!

 

I went into the film feeling like that with him but when I came out I was glad of the purpose he had in the film. He was there for a reason, had some lines and didn't die like most of the others.

 

Yeah its true, he served a purpose, and he did "eject" Ravage too!

Soundwave does not come to Earth. His role in the film is to hack Earth's military communications network and coordinate the Decepticons. Which he is incredibly good at doing, incidentally. He's a strategist I guess is what you would call it, an information analyst working from the back lines.

It's a role that fits him well.

 

Soundwave in space made sense. I didn't understand why he needed to permanently link to that military satellite though, I thought his alt mode was a satellite.

To be honest, the only aspect of him in the movie I'm still disappointed with is the voice. He does play a big role in the Decepticons' activities in the movie even if he doesn't have a lot of screentime himself.

I agree with this really - I like how Soundwave is up there, orchestrating the Decepticons but not wanting to get his hands dirty. Very reminiscent of G1 Soundwave's manipulative side.

 

Would you rather he came to earth and died, or that he was a secratary for this movie and can return in the next film?

They're different things.

Where? Unless it's been changed, "why soundwave is in space" contains no spoiler. You can go into any toy aisle and see he turns into a satellite, which are typically found in space.

We know he may be in the next film because he may be brought back by the writers. It may be something that happens. I also know for a fact it may rain next week, unless it doesn't.

 

It's OK man, he never old you about the Earth Mode Soundwave gets! Consider yourself spoiler-free in that respect...

 

The same way we knew Starscream would be in the sequel. He didn't die.

 

Also, they'll need everyone they can get for the the 3rd, there's only a handful of Decepticons alive by the end!!!
