Why not a Haslab/Titan Class Broadside?

Seems like a bit of unfinished business to me. Sure the G1 toy was not very big and the cartoon had mass shifting. But I think Broadside is a character that has been really overlooked in the Titan class scale. So would a Haslab or Titan class release be something you would be interested in? How tall should he be 18in, 24in, bigger?

    - I'm of the opinion that you need to use poetic license in Transformers. We have several examples illustrated there that if the scales were followed 100% it would be a mess. I would like a Broadside Commander Class.

I think something that could launch and recover the Aerialbots would be cool.

If they did a Titan Class Broadside, they can retool it as Armada Tidal Wave or vice versa.

    I would buy both. :thumb

I'd be curious to see how a Titan Broadside looked, and if he was done well enough he probably could be retooled into Tidal Wave.

Tidal Wave deserves better than a Broadside redeco. He needs his own mold, preferably able to combine with a new, character-authentic Armada Megatron. Definitely should not be Titan.

Broadside would ideally be the same size as all the other (main 6) triple changers. Idk why you’d have five around the same size and a big one.

I’m in the “prefer a Commander Broadside” club as well. That would be enough to have him loom over standard figures just fine, but it wouldn’t feel right to me to have him, like, eye-to-eye with Metroplex.

Plus Commander figures have mostly been good-to-excellent, and Broadside really deserves a great figure after the TR version. :)

I just want a Broadside that doesn't have a complete ass plane mode.

Broadside isn't a titan sized character. It wouldn't make any sense at all.

    ^ right here.

Even if he's Commander(which is perfect for bot mode scale), his carrier mode would be most closely scaled to the 1:600 Unicron microfigures. No reason for him to be a Titan.

Edit: Plus, I'd rather Hasbro avoid Broadside sharing a mold with Tidal Wave again. Titan Tidal Wave that turns into the Dark Fleet, and a Commander Broadside that is a triplechanger. They'd both be unique and accurate to the OGs.

For that matter, people seem to want a Titan Tidal Wave, but should he be one? Tidal Wave just seems to be a really big bot to me, but not citybot big, and also, if he was a Titan, would he be too big to serve as armaments for a Leader Armada Megatron?

Depends on whether Hasbro wants to bring back that gimmick.

As for Broadside, my issue with Titans is that because of their size they have been very simple to transform, which means Broadside would likely get a crap plane mode again. I'd rather they scale him down to Commander and give him a better transformation.

I mean a big part of the point behind Tidal Wave was that he was meant to combine with Megatron. People are bound to want to buy him for that gimmick. To not include would kill a good amount of the selling point of Tidal Wave. The other big thing about him was to be a Minicon base, but given that these small sized Micromasters aren't selling well lately, would Hasbro make a Titan now that is supposed to interact with them?

Minicons were a big point for Armada figures, but where are they?
    Minerva was a headmaster.
Spinister didn't come with his targetmasters.
TM2 Megs didn't have chrome or a vehicle mode.

And while that was certainly A selling point for Tidal Wave, I'm not sure that's the main reason people remember him fondly or want a new version. Quite frankly I've seen way more fan desire for a new TW than for a new Armada Megs, which makes me think fans are not that invested in him as an accessory.

We don't have Minicons exactly, but Micromasters are the next best thing, and later Titans like Omega Supreme were meant to interact with them, as evidence by him including one himself. Tidal Wave is heavy on interaction with smaller figures, so a new version lacking that would miss a good chunk of that play value.

One can argue that Minerva is the Victory series version, which was not a headmaster, but the Transtector from Masterforce given autonomy and new life. Honestly, that would have been a better explanation than whatever Mark gave.

Spinister did not come with his Targetmasters, but they were still available in Siege anyway. Same went for Scorponok and Fasttrack. Not much of a knock here.

I don't believe many people are fans of chrome, since it flakes off easily and has questionable longevity. Also, did anyone miss that vehicle mode?

From what I've seen, people seem to want Tidal Wave as a Titan after Armada Megatron was speculated to be in Legacy, which makes me think that people want him as an expansion pack for Megatron. Same seems to be the case for Jetfire and Armada Optimus. Seems more to me that people want the faction leaders because they are well, faction leaders first and foremost over other characters they would interact with.
