It's kind of a shame they didn't go balls out on making all the mainline characters into Dark Energon Toys full of Transparent Jolly Rancher goodness.

Same thing w/ Soundwave and hell, could you imagine army building some Dark Energon infused Zombie Vehicons?

 

They did do Soundwave. An they could still do more, with more waves and whatnot, right?

I wouldn't mind seeing a Deluxe Dark Energon Arcee in Flamewar colors and I'm always up for more Deluxe Vehicons so Dark Energon versions are good by me.

Ratchet in cannonball colours would have been cool. The Doctor of Doom would have looked the part then.

 

I like this idea. Even with me quitting the Prime line, I'd still buy that cause I loved all the repaints of the Energon Arcee mold.

This does appear to be a missed opportunity at this point. Maybe they have more of these in the works.

 

There would be 2 figures id for sure buy if they were put into the dark energon line. Ratchet in Cannonball colors and a bunch of zombie colored Vehicons (would be cool if made with the Takara Terrorcon Cliffjumper plastic but a bit darker so they'd be clear and ghost/zombie like). Cliffjumper will be the one they wont do unless its the PRID one, because of the numerous Terrorcon Cliff repaints done with the FE. (Takara version, SDCC,TRU Exclusive)

Based on the 'story' for this subline, the Autobots are counting on Ratchet to purge the Dark Energon from their systems before the corruption becomes permanent. Given that, a Dark Energon Ratchet wouldn't make much sense from an in-universe perspective, since they need him unaffected to be able to save Prime, BB and Driftjack.

Out-of-universe...it's an exclusive subline, those rarely have more than one wave and so there were only going to be so many figures.

 

they could repaint Vehicon (any deluxe version) in almost any color/deco/theme and id buy the sht out of them

 

Because Arcee, Ratchet, and Bulkhead have a virus making them resistant to Dark Energon  

 

...Is there really any point doing more than a single wave's worth of figures for an exclusive which nobody but BBTS wanted?

 

I guess they limited the number of figures since they couldn't be sure if it would be a popular exclusive or not.

It is too bad they didn't do a Ratchet figure as part of the exclusive because I'm kind of weird and I really like the mold. Soundwave could have been fun as well since it would look like he had acquired some new stealth mode.

I'd totally be on board for a Dark Energon Flamewar Deco for Arcee. (especially if they could somehow give her Transparent orange flames  )

Bulkhead needs to be Blue and Teal like his Cyberverse Commander repaint.

 

Why? Because the Unicron Trilogy was waaay baaack there.
