Why is "Movie line" Landmine so awesome?!

I just got this guy and this figure has no business being this good... it has detail, complexity and part count that is seemingly way out of line with the rest of the figures in the series.

It seems to have the touch of a new design team... is that true?

I think Landmine is just Hasbro/TakaraTomy saying "We really can do better"

Incinerator and (I think) Stockade both have pretty good detailing and such, too... Maybe they just did some extra work on the Sector Seven figures (Incinerator is S7, right?)

EDIT: I'm pretty sure Landmine is also the only figure of recent times besides Classics Mirage that can do this

Movie Landmine is awesome for the same reason Energon and Cybertron Landmines are awesome: karma. The original Landmine toy was a Pretender, and Hasbro has been making it up to him by making his new incarnations not suck.

Is Landmine still easy to get a hold of? I've neglected to get him, and I don't want to miss out on him now as I hear consistently that he's an awesome figure.

It's in saturation now. My Walmart had a crap load on Friday and I'll be heading out now. PM me if you want me to pick one up for you.

That would be sweet, but I plan on going out to a local Walmart after a doc's appointment tomorrow. If I have trouble finding him I'll give you a shout. I'd just hate to have to pay shipping and such on a figure I'd be likely to find in a store nearby.

I find it funny that, for the most part, the non-movie movie line characters (at least the later wave ones) seem to be so much better than the movie characters. Dropkick (best deluxe evar), Longarm, and from what I've heard (since I have yet to see/get any allspark figures) Landmine and Incinerator. Though the best figure in the line is still (IMO) a movie character, Leader Brawl.

Animated Bulkhead can pull that off as well.

Although, technically, he's not really out yet. :)

    1. Scorpy hardly transforms
    2. It isn't anywhere near as articulated as Landmine, Mirage, or Bulkhead in robot mode.

Grrr... our stores are saturated with Longarm at the moment, and I don't think he's selling all that well. I wonder when/if they are going to order the next wave of Movie Deluxes.

personally, i think he's pretty over rated, the legs make him unstable, especially with the wheels...

his face also makes him look like a mummy or something too...

He'd look awesome with a chainsaw. I heard Zombie Spawn (I think)'s weapon goes very well with Landmine. Anyone got both?

I like my Landmine alright. Had a shoddy face paint apps, but I managed to fix it.
