People are always comparing the big budget summer action films to other big budget action films so at some point I'm sure there will be a thread comparing the new Star Wars films to Transformer or Batman vs Superman to Transformers.

This is no contest. Even in business world, Marvel-Disney is far richer than Hasbro-Paramount as far as resources is concerned. Marvel sold itself to Disney for Avengers to happen which is the best decision they did.

But yeah, I wish Hasbro and Paramount could do the same. Well, it's Steven Spielberg's fault i guess. He said only Michael Bay can direct a TF movie.

Abomination is still around. Coulson made a reference to him on Agents of SHIELD at one point, saying something to the effect of "Keep that up and I'll have you playing watchdog for Blonsky" confirming that he is indeed still apart of the MCU even though they dont have any Hulk films planned in the near future

Unlikely. Bay doesn't have that story telling capability down.

Actually up until Hong Kong AOE was borderline excellent then it all kind of became very messy until the final battle.

I Love all the Transformers Movies for what they are, Funny Robot Fighting Action Movies. You can get any Director, Actors, Budget you want, NO ONE CAN MAKE Tranformers like Iron Man, The Avengers, or Captain America The Winter Soldier. It will never happen. You can't even compare them. I dare to say to even think a Transformers Live Action movie could even come close to be anything like Batman The Dark Knight, or The Avengers is simple Foolish. I Love Marvel and Batman, but I will never try to compare them to Transformers. Only Movie you can compare Transformers to is Pacific Rim, and maybe Power Rangers. That's IT! Marvel and Transformers aren't even in the same Category. That's like trying to give every single Transformer the 1000+ of them there own stand alone movie. It CAN'T BE DONE! What's the most Well reviewed movie about Robots ever made. TERMINATOR 2 maybe, That's It!

Transformers STILL makes more money than Marvel, with media AND merchandise.

Remember, the topic is about the franchises, not just the movies.

Each Transformers film is a standalone film. You can say that its a sequel but the only thing that ultimately continues on is the fate of Megatron. Megatron really is the glue of the franchise.

Other than that, they will keep on changing things in the lore and mythos that creates continuity errors throughout the entire franchise.

While I agree marvel is better, and it's got a lot to do with writing/directing choices that just don't favor strong characters or stories-

How do you figure tf is a laughing stock of the film industry? They probably should be- but I'm not convinced that they are at all.

At one point people were saying they could never do a serious Batman film because people thought live action Batman would just be something like the 60's TV show.

People said superhero movies would never really take off.

People said the studio was insane for making Lord of the Rings because people would never flock to see a film based on a fantasy book that age and by the director of Dead Alive and The Frighteners.

Almost anything that has ever been done in Hollywood has had people saying well they can never do that. Even in the Transformers films at first it was we can't have spaceships because space ships are silly for robots, until they decided to put space ships in the films then people said space ships are cool.

I think anything with Transformers isn't so much of a can not or will never work but just hasn't been tried because studio is just a little too comfortable with as is if the films make money as is.

I wouldn't call it better. Fans have different obsessions. But who cares? This is TFW2005! Transformers is the best here and as long as we like it, any other thing doesn't matter.

Some of us want good writing.

    Some of us want EXPLOSIONS!

I sincerely believe we can have both. One day, perhaps.

Marvel has been around a lot longer than Transformers. They have many good films to build up that loyalty, but not all of their films are good. Spiderman 3 anyone?
