because it's an awful movie.

 

Because you have to have watched 2 seasons of an annoying cartoon to have any connection to what’s happening.

 

Because it's the inferior movie.

 

While it was good lead up to the cartoon, it was painfully average and didn't have anything to impress critical viewers such as visuals, story, and soundtrack

 

Without nostalgia glasses its about as coherently written as ROTF.
There's no real character growrh, there's no real plot despite the ever looming threat of Unicron, and its so 80's cheese without nuance that the best way I can describe it is a bowl nachos with queso. However, this bowl just happens to be all queso with like one or two chips in it.

I also don't understand why even the more hardcore g1 fans are in full undying love for it. It blatantly killed off 95% of the original cast of characters in the first 20 minutes in favor of new characters. And whats worse is that it was done solely to make room for new toys, which is openly and unashamedly admitted by the studio and production team. It was the ultimate cash grab in more ways than one, and in my opinion moreso than any of the bay films. How nobody has had an issue with that is beyond me.

 

It’s a cheesy blatant Star Wars ripoff that didn’t even hide the fact it only existed to sell toys.

Still a fun movie.

 

Didn't expect so many people to agree with me on that movie but okay..I'll believe it.

 

To be honest, every time I watch it, It becomes pretty boring after Autobot City.

It was just a way of updating the toy shelves, by making kids cry.

 

The 1986 movie has never ever been considered a good film outside of the nerd bubble. Reviews back in the day were widely negative and complained about a confusing plot with cliche characters and focus on action over depth.

Only mildy interesting thing was the battle of autobot city and even that was kinda underwhelming.

 

Because it’s bad.

 

At least you guys didn't have it as bad as I did I watched this hours after seeing the 07 movie in theaters

 

I still love it. It's full on 80s cheese sure, but I like feeling like I'm 9 years old again watching it with my grandmother.
