The Energon Prime in Greyriders pos't above me is probably what the designers wanted, but due to make the supermode look in propaution and the electronics to fit in they made the Leader class model somewhat bulkier.

My opinion is that energon Prime is cool. I like his blocky simplicity and he is a realy fun figure because of his 2 second transformation and ability of having multiple combination possibilities.

Posting while intoxicated = bad idea. I guess I didn't take everything in and just saw what I mistakeningly thought was an unprovoked jab at the UK. I retract my comment.

    Not a problem.
At the same time, I don't want to come off like I know anything about Hasbro UK or how they actually handle things over there- Its just thats what he cited as his reason for criticizing Hasbro's American designers (which didn't sit well with me- I'm a very big fan of theirs :rock  ).

Anyways, to try to bring this back to Energon Prime: I've heard it rumored that he was designed as something of an experiment, which lead to the inclusion of the Gestalts towards the end of the line?

The thing that gets me is HOW did they go from Armada Prime (non powered up form, as that looked really scary) to Energon Prime to Cybertron Prime!?!? Although they dont need to show a literal progression of the Prime's but something is wrong with E. Prime as the other two look pretty darn decent. E. Prime is ok (i always keep him Suuupaaaarinkkkkk'd with Omega Supreme anyway) but definitely not my favourite one at all.

If they could've just designed it so that the front tire portion of the cab could seperate and fold back away from his sides in robot mode, he'd at least look cooler from the front. Sure, he'd then have a giant ass, but giant ass Prime would be better than giant beer gut Prime eh?

I agrre, butz's post was tongue-in-cheek...so let's keep the peace. Anyway, I do find the regular mode abit on the fat side but E.Optimus was designed with the combined mode in mind.

Personally I think my take on it is the best.

In Armada, they're in full blown war, Prime gets to do a lot of exercise.

After they win the war and destroy Unicron, he gets to slow down a bit, ingest a little more energon... sit behind a desk...

And as anyone will attest, with a desk job comes the risk of weight gain...

Yeah, Hasbro should just hire me as their Tech Spec Writer.
