    IIRC, Jetfire said the Matrix wasn't intended for reviving Transformers, but it's still very powerful nonetheless. It may also be that the Matrix can only revive Primes, as they're "worthy" of its power. Or something. lol super convenient plot.

    maybe before prime got shanked, he tilted his body a bit so the gaping hole was made a few cm from his spark? :D  lol. i see the matrix has a jumper for a car. dead but with a tiny bit of charge and floor the gas its ALIVE!

    Obviously the real reason is that the Matrix will only revive bots whom children actually give a shit about.

    Ok, let's see...

    Optimus (stabbed through chest, blasted through chest) - revived by Matrix
    Sentinel (deactivated) - revived by Matrix
    Megatron (Spark destroyed, limbs detached) - revived by AllSpark shard
    Jetfire (deactivated/hibernating) - revived/awoken by AllSpark shard
    Frenzy (damaged) - rebuilt by AllSpark shard


    Seems like only Primes can be revived by the Matrix.

    Bingo. Bumblebee could've been fragged into a fine mist, and they would've still found a way to revive him with the Matrix, or some other way.

    Except that every one of those revivals that didn't involve the Matrix occurred before anyone even found the Matrix. So, who knows what the Matrix can or can't revive? I doubt the writers even do, to be honest.
