Switched from the composite to an HDMI cable on my Xbox 360 this week and it's been causing me fits. The video will cut out completely after a wile (usually an hour) and will only come back after shutting it down and starting it back up again. Seems to only do it wile playing games as I tried it during movie playback and would only flicker a couple of times but not cut out completely. Any thoughts? I've tried 3 different HDMI cables so it's not that and I've tried a couple of ports on the TV.
Although there's a 3rd-party adapter out there (we sell it at Best Buy) that converts the standard outputs over to HDMI w/ an optical out... For those 360 owners who don't have the 'new' consoles already with the HDMI outputs.
Sounds like you've got a gremlin. I googled the issue and came up with nothing. If you have two HDMI ports on your TV try switching them and see if it likes the other port. Lame, I know but it's the only thing I could think of.
It's not just your Three-fitty. My PS3 HDMI does that sometimes, but not during gaming or movie, sometimes when I switch it on it comes out blue, but if I shut my TV off and on, it will fix it. Then again, I got a 20 dollar cheap cable.
Check it for what specifically? Whatever the default is, I fiddled with some settings to no avail. The what now?
