Because if they didn't then people would (and have) bitch about the lack of paint apps in alt mode. The way I look at it, at least we don't have to add a shitload of stickers!

Robot modes usually have plenty of different colored parts and pieces to create visual interest. Alt-mode (which most of these are packaged in, by the way) generally has fewer colors of plastic and less visual interest as a whole.

 

Really? When I look at Generations Blurr and Jazz, they have too few paint apps. Good I have the United versions

The alt mode is just as important to me, if not more so in some cases, than the robot mode. Missing details on a vehicle, such as lights or engine, is worse than an undetailed knee or shoulder to me.

 

The robot mode should serve the Alt mode not the other way round, that way Fake windshields and wheels lie.

And the more paint apps the better I say and MORE METALLIC PAINT PLEASE

 

You must be drunk, hasbro has horribly low paint apps on most deluxe toys, it's like they are out of paint! If they put on even less you have a toy in monocolor!

 

Probably because the alt mode is seen in both modes, while the robot mode is only seen in one. Robot parts can technically get away with less paint apps then vehicle bits as well.

Because they are made for kids and kids like lots of colors.

 

Paint apps on the alt mode is vital IMO. Although most collectors display in robot mode, it's nonsense to believe we don't care about the alt mode. Although many favor the robot mode, I don't believe collectors buy only half a Transformer. That'd be throwing away the alt mode, the transformation, etc.

Besides ... in today's toys it's not like we have paint apps in either mode.

I replaced my RTS Tracks with United Tracks for a reason. I don't care if the flame deco ends up on the back of his calves, it's not "Tracks" without it.

Lots of paint apps and such still show in bot mode, too, on most figures.
