Why do people want the transformers to look like their g1 counterparts?

    Funny you say that because when the G1 designs showed up in Bumblebee, fans and general audiences alike found them cool as shit. Even people who'd never seen any '80s material found more personality in the G1 designs. Also, context is clearly important. In the 2007 film, G1 designs would look out of place for the film they were making. If they are doing a film that is a full callback to G1, they should obviously look like G1.

    In the Bayverse movies they would have looked a little out of place in their G1 versions. Would have been funny to see Rachet and Ironhide as Nissan Mirco Vans though.

    The new Bee movie they fit in perfectly for what era it is.

    Nope, it's just my opinion. I understand why some would want them to look as much as possible like G1, because they liked G1 and have nostalgia.
