I for one love the Beatles and I think that they have practically revolutionized the music industry and spread the idea of peace and hope. I make it a law for myself to listen to Abby Road everyday and everyday I listen to The End which for you non-Beatles fans it is a the climactic medley of several songs and was the last song the Beatles did on a Album. All combined for a massive "goodbye" song and every time I hear it I cry. I also cry listening to their last singles Long and winding road and let it be.

Now I don't think they would have ended war and everything bad but they produced great music and as a kid my dad would play them for me and they we're the only thing that would make me go to sleep if I was having trouble sleeping or if I woke up from a nightmare. Now I know that the Beatles have greatly affected my life and I'm sure it has yours.

Because if they hadn't, they would now be the same horrid kind of sellout that their fans loathe. Seriously; how many bands carry on well past their sell-by date, and end up a form of parody of their former selves?
They stopped at the right point IMO.

    I totally agree.

This topic made me lol, considering I randomly decided to listen to the Beatles all day today.

Pretty much this, and the fact that we're didn't like each other very much at the end. Blame Yoko, Blame inflating ego, Blame Ringo, but the band had simply run their course. Abbey Road And Let It Be were essentially recorded with each Beatle doing their own work spread from the rest. Amazing considering Abbey Road their real final album (recorded after Let it Be) is their best IMO. And the solo work of Lennon and McCarthy is amazing.

But Ringo covered the "No No Song"...all is forgiven Ringo.

Bonus cool points for any youngins that recognize the two guys in the video with him.

I wonder if it's possible for Weird Al to become a parody of himself.

Rolling Stones, I'm looking at you here...

You end up with an ever-decreasing parody circle which causes a parody paradox, which then becomes a singularity, which swallows Bob Dylan.

    Except he's an unintentional parody.

I guess the Beatles were ok. Not like they were Queen, though.

    Beatles and Queen are awesome.

You want to know an overrated band? Nirvana. I like them, but they're overrated.

The Beatles and Queen overrated? No way.
