Just a post to express what are the main reasons you are excited about the release of the movie, besides obviously... Cause it's finally a TF movie... :p

Why I can't wait for the movie... For me it's because... Mainly TF media for the last four series has been performing extremely below par IMO. The toys on the other hand... Have been kicking ass and taking numbers! I can't get enough of the new TF toys. =) Another reason I can't wait, I wanna see what they do with the toys, they can only get better, and the idea of the G1 neo line has me pretty much >>> :cry  in happiness...lol..well not that extreme, but you get the idea.

I like Cybertron Okay, it's better than the last three if you as me..., but there are still a lot of things that ruin it for me... I'm so sick of 4Kids entertainment dubs, It's like sreening a series by putting it through a stupid machine.... I'm hoping after the movie these things will become history.

Anyway, those are the reasons that I really can't wait for the movie!! And I expecially can't wait to see what type of media we get after to movie!!

    Yours? :rock

Edit: took out my reasoning for disliking Cybertron in fear it would be come a cybertron like/dislike debate.

    JS.

I am actually kinda scared because (as with any movie of this genre) it signifies a decline in the toy line.

This might just be the last hurrah.

I'm just interested to see what kind of take they have on the TF's design-wise. I'm assuming that they are looking to do someting new with it, while keeping the Bots G1ish (I hope).
Whatever happens, I'm going to see it with an open mind. Just because its different, doesnt mean it will kill off everything that went before it...

I'm excited about the new movie because it will be a chance for me to really see G1 for the first time. Until the DVDs came out, the only G1 I had seen was Roll For It and the movie. It will be awesome to see the characters on the big screen. I know the movie won't be exactly G1 but it will be taking the best parts from that mythology. I had always thought, from reading the comics, that the G1 characters were always the greatest because they were so quirky. The characters from the series from the past few years, at least in the shows, haven't really had that quirkiness that made the personalities so great in G1. So I'm excited that I'm going to see, hopefully, some great character personalities in a Transformers media in this day and age.

Because it's been 20 years since the last TF movie. And if it's done right, we'll be here talking about it for the next 20. Otherwise, we'll sweep it under the rug like Highlander 2 or Star Trek 5. Plus, I personally would like to see a Western made series again that the movie has the potential to inspire.

I'm not very excited about the movie, to be honest. I'll probably pick up the director's cut on DVD just to see what all the fuss is about.

I'm mainly interested in the toys.

    Mainly.

I'm excited because I've always felt that if handled by talented writers, the TF mythos could compete with ANY sci-fi epic ever. The general G1 concept was excellent, and were it not for the unbelievably tight time frame and Hasbro cramming new toys, gimmicks and pushing for the removal of older product (execution of core characters in movie), the true potential could have been realized.

With the movie we're getting the story told by talented writers, who have plenty of time to flesh ideas out, whose work will be brought to life by skilled actors and animators, each with adequate time to do their jobs well, and without Hasbro marketing dictating who's in and who's out. Yes, Hasbro certainly has input, but were they to lean on Murphy and tell him to feature the XXX-Master characters more heavily, or something to that effect, he'd poliely instruct them to f' their mothers.

I'm excited because, if done well, this should be a movie that everyone would enjoy. The potential is there.

I'm excited we are finally getting the proper Transformers reboot we have been begging for.

The timing is about right for it. The fans who bought into the current theme of Robots In Disguise are significantly older now. The movie and apparently the toys should be more sophisticated to cap off the current generation.

What's in store for the next generation, Primus only knows.
